We should be starting the season on September 6 against an OOC opponent from one of the FCS conferences that we never schedule or a low level FBS opponent. Then a bye, then 10 more games starting September 20. Time to move into the 21st century, or at least the 1980’s.
Agreed, but I would prefer the bye to come after the last OOC opponent. That would mean half the league would have a bye after week 4, and the other half after week 5.
I mean a Bye for half the league after week 5 and a Bye for the other half after week 6 with an 11 game schedule.
The system is antiquated and dull. Time for the Ivy League to stop this nonsense. Start to lead instead of this apologetic attitude. That Football is beneath them. If done correctly it would be a boom. To the local community. The economy the overall health of the region. 12 games would be a great utilization of The Yale Bowl and its resources. If you do it , THEY WILL COME.!!
I’m not sure why adding two games would increase attendance.
Where did the rest of the comments go?
Glad to have you back. A question: “Summer Updates” says there are 51 comments, but when I click on that number only 42 comments appear. I’m baffled.
Try refreshing. It’s happened to me a few times.
HOW MANY2026 COMMITS DOES YALE FOOTBALL HAVE?
Yes, Good Question Ray, inquiring minds would like to know.
Also 4 former Yale Players will be participating in games today. McDoungh for Iowa State noon kickoff. Stanford Pantelis, Patterson and Thompson at 3:30 I believe.
The Stanford will kickoff at 7:30 on CBS.
Like the way these Athletic Directors accomplish things.
Fordham at Boston College
Bucknell at Air Force
Holy Cross at Northern Illinois
VMI at Navy
CCSU at U CONN AGAIN.!!
Directors with purpose and a vision FOR THEIR MENS FOOTBALL TEAM
Come on you Colgate Alum, think outside of the your box.!!
Holy Cross will be playing Northwestern in 2027. I would love to see Yale schedule games like these too. However, the reality is without athletic scholarships (to get bowl counter status for the game) and an 11 game schedule that starts a couple of weeks earlier, it is very tough for the Athletic Director to do it. Yale is the only Ivy League school to play an FBS opponent this century (Army 2014, UConn 2021), so Beckett and Chun deserve a lot of credit for that. If it’s one FBS opponent very 7 years that would mean another one should be coming soon. Fingers crossed.
Chun had nothing to do with UConn , that was All on Tom Beckett.
First play on defense Clay Patterson causes a fumble for a Stanford touchdown
Halfway through the 2nd qtr. Clay Paterson continues to be a beast causing havoc on the Defensive Line. I have yet to see Pantelis on the field as of yet.
Thompson # 27 has a couple of tackles as well.
Reading the Stanford scouting report. David Pantelis looks to have had a season ending undisclosed injury during practice. That’s to. Ad for the kid. He was slated to be a main contributor for this team.
Tore his ACL the first day of camp. Sad indeed

I was looking over this weekends football schedule.
LIU Sharks who was Division 2 up until 2019 . Who played the likes of UNH Chargers and Southern Connecticut Owls. Is playing The University of Florida this Saturday. Then Central Michigan the following Saturday.
I’m not saying Yale should be scheduling power 5 schools, but that’s friggan awesome. Congratulations on having the opportunity to let your players play. Instead of being pigeonholed by bunch of hypocrites. Good Luck Sharks
