NFL Bulldogs: Roster Moves & Veterans

  • Kiran Amegadije was cut by the Chicago Bears as the team trimmed its roster.
  • Josh Pitsenberger was released by the Houston Texans after reaching an injury settlement following an ankle injury.
  • Wande Owens was released by the Buffalo Bills. However, former Yale teammate Jackson Hawes made a strong impression and remains a valued contributor at tight end.
  • Rodney Thomas II was waived by the Seattle Seahawks.
  • Foye Oluokun continues to hold down the center of the defense as a mainstay linebacker and team captain for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

CFB Week 0 Action

  • Stanford: The Cardinal pulled off a 37-27 victory over Hawaii, though neither wide receiver Nico Brown nor defensive back Breylan Thompson recorded any stats. Brown had been listed as questionable leading up to kickoff.
  • Harvard / TCU: Former Crimson quarterback Jaden Craig suffered a harsh introduction to the FBS level as TCU fell to Bill Belichick’s UNC squad.
  • FCS Note: Lehigh put on a dominant display in FCS play, pummeling Holy Cross 35-10—even as the Crusaders showed flashes of a dangerous offense compared to their 2025 campaign.

Do any of the Elis let go by NFL teams have a shot at making practice squads?
And is it known if Josh’s injury is so severe it is career-ending?

The Crusaders’ big loss to Lehigh seems to point to us having a good shot in the opener, tho you never know.

Gentlemen; more interested in how our squad is proceeding this year. Those type of updates appear to be more meaningful for those of us interested in this year squad. Including, but not limited to any breakthrough performers.

Egodogbare, Yales outstanding DL , who transferred to Houston Cougars will be starting against Oregon State Beavers tomorrow on ESPN at Noon he is # 50

Props to Villanova playing Louisville and Richmond playing NC State next Saturday.!! If they can why can’t Yale schedule these schools. I want to see Yale schedule up and play.! What about it VC .? Start to support this Football team like you do the other programs.!!

I live in Seattle and just heard on local sports radio that two Seahawk safetys may miss Wednesday night’s opener vs. New England. They said Rodney Thomas is in the picture to play; at the moment he’s listed on the practice squad.

Nico Brown is out with a hamstring injury. David Pantelis is currently not getting playing time, him coming off a torn acl injury last August may have some play into that but he was not listed on the injury report. Breylan Thompson is going to be out for the season because of an acl injury as well.

10 days till kickoff. I need some sort of Yale Football update. Nothing by the New Haven Register but UConn . Can you please

9 more days till the HolyCross , Holy Cross looks suspect after losing to Lehigh and Colgate. That can only bode well for the Crusaders.

It’s coming . Holy Cross has by identical scores of 35 to 10 to A great Lehigh team and a good Colgate team . Now there going into Miami of Ohio a MAC conference team. Who Pittsburgh put 59 points on them. Have to see what happens there.
How about Yale , no news in a bit.

Rodney Thomas II played safety virtually the whole game last night in the Seahawks’ 13-10 win over New England. The Pats’ longest gain was 19 yards, and Thomas tipped a pass that became one of three Seattle picks (all in fourth quarter) in their big comeback. Seattle Times: “Rodney Thomas might have been the game’s most important player.”

Final score Miami of Ohio 45
Holy Cross 7
On a side note Colgate lost to Central Michigan University 13 to 10
If the Patriot League can schedule MAC teams why not the Ivy League.?

Because games against Patriot League schools (except Georgetown) count for bowl eligibility (due to having a certain # of scholarships).
Games against Ivy schools (and G-town, and the Pioneer League) do not count.
Not saying that’s the way it should be…just saying that’s the way it is.

Yesl voy vey, but with advent of the Ivy League entering the FCS Playoff picture . The Ivy League needs to grow this conference. Be a good steward to do the best for the teams. Yale especially with its legacy . Has been a guiding light for this journey.
Being a historical innovator of the modern game. To being the 1st Ivy League Champion, to playing teams that raised eyebrows.!! NO we can’t play those kind of teams. Yale showing yes they can and Winning those games . Or at least being competitive.
Prime example stretching Montana State in the playoffs. People got respect for what and how they played.
Go Bulldogs !!

I would have preferred that they moved the Bye week up to Week 6, leave Week 7 as is and fill Week 1 with an OOC. That would make OOC scheduling easier (including possible FBS opponents) by making an extra available week in September to schedule them. It would also make the BYE at the exact mid way point.

I have 3 tickets and a parking pass for the HC game Yale side…would love them go to a Yale fan or Veteran..unfortunately I cannot make the game. Text 2036232560

4 days till the start of the season, I haven’t heard a single thing on the progress of this team. Not in any local Newspapers. I have gotten multiple stories on UConn every day . In the New Haven Register. But I don’t care about them.
How do you create a buzz about something that people don’t know about.!! IDK Yale plays football.!! NOTHING!! No Radio, on your morning commute to work.!! No newspaper coverage.!!
Oh yah thanks to YDN I now know that I won’t be able to get a ticket to the Yale Harvard Game.!!
Yale has NO Idea how to promote its football team!! Get radio coverage back.!! 4 days is to late to promote.!! You lost the window.!! So disappointed

Was there even a scrimmage this year? You would think with all the social media now someone would know something. Crickets.
