Yale 45 Harvard 28

The last time Yale beat H four straight times was during and right after WWII. And they weren’t consecutive years since Yale and Harvard did not play in 1943 and 1944.

Is tomorrow still the election for Captain 153, or does that wait until after the last game? Uncharted territory, here…

Kamara for captain???

I would think they would wait, but like you said, uncharted territory. I assume the team banquet will not be held until the season is over.

I’d be surprised if Kamara stays, I’m sure SEC and Big 10 teams know about him and are offering up some big $.

I think the men of Yale should show next week. It will be in the region most likely. We can all get to Philly or wherever. LFG!!!

Yale won the automatic bid, Yale put a request to host a game. Possibility of hosting CCSU out of the NEC the winner of that conference champ automatic bid,
But will be able to confirm this at Noon on ESPNU during the selection show.

Where is Tim Becker bashing Reno and his nepo baby Dante? At least have the guts to show back and admit you were wrong.

Watching Football Final, Yale is mentioned several times during the show. It was nice to see. Joey Galloway loves Yale .
To Coach Chris Ostrowsky, that had to be one of the best games called in me watching Yale football for 58 years. Thank you very much.
Coach McGown , I like your Defense. They dominated from the start. They finished they closed the deal.
To Tony and Dante Reno, you 2 had the ultimate father son moment. To the team, staff may you make some more noise in the up coming playoffs. A year to remember. A new Yale tradition.!! Go Bulldogs.

Wonder if the playoffs were the reason Harvard was calling timeouts and risking injuries down three scores with like 30 seconds left. Reno couldn’t hide his disgust. Course a Harvard lineman had just launched himself onto a Yale player who was on the turf in what was the easiest targeting call made in the NCAA this weekend.

There’s a lot of talk on this blog about Yales penalties and team chirping. Certainly outclassed the brand the world aspires to yesterday.

There was also a lot of pregame talking by Aurich. Aurich also broke protocol by leading his team onto the field before Yale. Reno stayed quiet and let this team’s performance do the talking.

No doubt there have been other cheap shots through time, but the ugliest I know of came in the ’85 Princeton game. On a play near their goal line, a Tiger LB stuck his fingers in our QB Mike Curtin’s helmet, targeting his eyes. Mike leaped back in pain. Thankfully he was okay, but that sh*t is beyond the pale The LB was smiling and happy in the post-game press conference (Princeton won). I assume he was getting “revenge” for Curtin’s last-second TD winning TD pass the year before. Mike was also a really great guy (now an MD in Utah) but even so I wouldn’t wish that upon my worst enemy.

Gentlemen; a complete game for our blue. Let’s keep the momentum into the playoffs .note to offensive coordinator open up the playbook. By the way, not a fan of the uniforms prefer last year‘s model.

Yale has now won 5 Ivy Championships in the last eight seasons. Last time Yale did something like that was from 74-81 when they won six in eight seasons. We’re witnessing a new Yale Football dynasty!

It’s gonna be nice to see a Yale Football Game after THANKSGIVING.!! I can’t wait for this.! I never thought in my life time , that this day would come. After years of banging the drum. So Thank You very much.!! GO BULLDOGS.

Pitsenberger and the seniors have now won 3 rings. It’s interesting that they have one outright title, one co-championship, and one tri-championship.

When you filter to league-only games (to make things apples-to-apples as far as opponents), Reno finished first in efficiency.

Watching the replay, I’m still trying to figure out the pass interference call on Harvard’s second TD drive. The ref’s never said who it was on and the ball was nowhere near any Harvard receiver. Yet nobody seemed to complain. I could understand if holding was called, not PI.

Road trip Youngstown Ohio is a 7and half hour ride. .!! Yale should sponsor buses for people to support this Football team.!

I think we should all sing Bright College Years, wave handkerchiefs, elect 1 captain tonight and call it an extremely successful season. Playing Youngstown after beating Harvard and Princeton is ANTI-CLIMATIC! What could be better than going out on a high note before 50k in the Bowl?

As far as I can tell, looking through my copy of “The Yale Football Story”, the last time Yale played 11 games in a season was 1904.

Still euphoric from yesterday’s outstanding performance from our Elis. Looking forward to another win on Saturday. Yale will have the opportunity to play a Midwest team for the first time since Miami of Ohio in 1977.

since

If you press on the Youngstown schedule on the Yale football schedule football site. You’ll see former Yale football player Dathan Hickey commenting on The upcoming game with Yale.? I didn’t know that’s where he went.?!

Gentlemen; I forgot to mention it was a poor choice by the administrators to canvass both enzone seating. Probably would have had another 5k of those seats.Regrettably it looks like the Cantabs were rewarded despite their dismantling by our Blue with their playoff schedule.

Agree with Old Blue. Yale’s reward for defeating Harvard was a much more difficult opening and potential second round game. I would have loved to have Lehigh as a potential second round opponent. Even though Yale lost to Lehigh, and they are a good team, Yale is much better than they were in early October.

I would have preferred drawing Rhode Island with Cal Davis in Round II, but I’m thrilled to be playing anyone in football after Thanksgiving. I think the committee wanted to see how the Ivy Champion would match up against a 3rd place MVC team. Hence Yale got Youngstown St.

Youngstown St has a very talented QB by the name of Beau Brunguard. Yale will need to find a way to neutralize him. It won’t be easy. He is both a passing and a running threat. In one game he rushed for 200 yards as a QB while passing for another 328. He was named first team All-MVFC in 2024. Sounds like he is a similar player to former Holy Cross QB Matt Sluka.

One MVFC fan posted: “There isn’t an athlete on Yale’s defense that can run with Brungard. Gonna potentially be a pretty rude awakenin”. He doesn’t know Yale football, but it will definitely be a challenge.

I doubt it will be a rude awakening since Yale will certainly have YSU game tapes. The coaches and players will know what Brungard can do. Stopping him is another matter, but there won’t be any surprises.

Haven’t heard anything but I’m assuming they will hold off naming a new captain until this season is over. Hopefully that’s not any time soon.

I hope The Yale Administration understands the importance of this upcoming event. The NCAA selection committee is watching Yale and that other team. To see how they perform in this format. I personally have a good feeling about this team and the capabilities. This essentially practice for next season.
It’s important for not only Yale but the entire League to have a good showing and educate the knuckle draggers on the TEAM AND LEAGUE, THAT THIS SCHOOL IN PARTICULAR GIFTED TO OTHERS.
YALE SHOULD HAVE A PEP RALLY , GATHERING FOR NOT ONLY STUDENTS and ALUMS BUT FOR ALL YALE FANS. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A Busses or chartered flight to support this team. The band to be out there and cheerleaders.!! Get behind this group of young men and coaches and staff to let them know, that they are appreciated on the hard work of this historic moment.
I know I am a much. But I’ve been waiting and feeling for this moment since 1970 and I want it bad for this School and this Yale Football Team . GO BULLDOGS.!!

Offensive player of the year Josh Pitsenberger.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Abu Kamara
Or Ezekiel Larry for Defensive player of the year.

Totally inexcusable, but we’ll have a shot @ #71 next year. Teach him some manners. Both he and Larry are juniors.

Youngstown State University’s Football Stadium is Stanbaugh stadium with a seating capacity of a whopping 21,630 aluminum backless benches.
Youngstown mascot is a Penguin, I think they should nickname their stadium The Penitentiary.

Ken, I still believe that is because Yale does not know how to promote their product. They are under the delusion. That it’s under the alumni and student body. When you see those old pictures of the Yale Bowl Full. It was because of The Community the townspeople. That’s what you guys don’t grasp. I have a lot more say . I’m not gonna bother cheers

Amen to your view of Yale’s efforts (or lack thereof) to promote Yale football. I’m on the Harvard sports contact list because of buying tickets for the 2024 H:Y Game and Harvard’s promotion has been truly impressive. Harvard didn’t sell out the Stadium for its 2025 games but it drew far more than Yale. I’ve saved all of the emails if someone wants to see them.

Nice , here’s to a great game on Saturday against the Penguins of Youngstown State.!! Who everyone is laughing at the prospect of them playing Yale.!!
All I have to say is . Yale 24 Cal poly 10
They were stunned.
Yale 49 Army 43 Army walked off the field . With their collective mouths open.!!
Come on Bulldogs !! Time to show the world . What you’re all about. If it wasn’t for Yale they’d still be playing a form of rugby and eating dirt.!!
GO BULLDOGS.!! Kick those Penguins Tails .!!

There will be two Walter Peyton award finalists playing in this upcoming playoff game Saturday. One from each team.

Yale’s vaunted defense will be tested like never before on Saturday. If they can neutralize Brungard the way Holy Cross neutralized Grooms in recent seasons Yale will win this game.

Yale Football also got “Coaching Staff of the Year Award. “ Congratulations to all the Yale coaches and all the Yale players honored. Thank you for an amazing season! The ending still isn’t written. The best could still be yet to come.

If we love the kids when they win (which they did) let’s not bad mouth them when they lose. Reno’s teams start slow but they finish strong.

In other news, Grant Jordan playing for a O 11 UMass football team. Starting for the 1st time all year has lead the Minuteman to two touchdowns halftime Bowling Green 28 UMass 14

Gentlemen; My congratulations to our blue total improvement over the course of the year with the dismantling of our Cantabs adversary. Our signal caller deserved much more ancient eight distinction, then not even being named on the second or honorable mention. A note to our offensive coordinator for this game against Youngstown whatever state they’re in open the playbook they will be stacked to stop number seven enough said.

Snow showers forecasted for Saturday… I wonder how many Yale football games have been played in the snow? I can’t recall any offhand.

Is Yale doing anything for fan support for this team.? Be nice if they thought of getting a bus trip too the game. (Disappointing) . This is what I’m talking about marketing. Charge people open it to the general public as well.

Ezekiel Larry had an amazing year this year earning 1st Team All Ivy Honors. Ivy League fans know he is the most talented Edge player in the league. On Saturday the rest of the FCS will learn that he is the most talented Edge player in the entire Division.
