Some stats.

Lehigh completed only eight passes. Most years Yale would win big against that few completions.

Yale was only 5 of 16 on third down, although they were 3 of 5 on fourth. But usually you are going on fourth down if you’re behind.

Breakout game for Santiago with 6 receptions. Nick Brown with 7 receptions is becoming a star.

Game took 2 hours and 49 minutes. Wasn’t last weeks game almost 4 hours

The big stat, of course, Yale 3 turnovers and no takeaways.

Target a receiver all you want. You need a quarterback who can deliver the ball, with accuracy. He has no touch, off target , no zip.

Yale football is headed downwards, coach Reno needs to make changes and target playmakers instead of the pits and a cloud of dust mentality

Chris Ostrowsky, do yourself a favor and watch The Navy Offense. The coordinator is Drew Cronic,he’s the former Head Coach of Mercer, He’s been the OC for Navy for the past 2 years.
Bring your Running back coach with you, tell your running backs to break out to the outside every so often. I’m amazed the amount of times that these RB’s go into the teeth of the defense. When holes are to the outside.!!

Oh Ostrowsky, put Kamara in on some offensive plays.!! He’s the most talented player on this team. Is to valuable not to use him.

I don’t get it between the on line gambling, or the Russian advertising a whatever that is . It’s just plain pathetic.
I hope Chris Ostrowsky is earning his keep by implementing a honest to goodness game plan in this week. and Chris Bergeski, the running backs coach is telling his kids to utilize their running lanes , hold the ball high and tight. Protect that damn ball.!!
To Marcus Knight, tell your players to look at the receiver, look at their eyes. THEN TURN AROUND AND GET THAT BALL.!! STOP SHOW BOATING, ACT LIKE YOU’VE DONE IT BEFORE.!! Stop the stupid undisciplined penalties.!!
GO BULLDOGS.!!

Wish Stonehill were next opponent so we could figure stuff out (like QB), and then Dartmouth, but it is what it is.

Gentlemen; maybe Coach Reno can immediately raid one of the pop Warner coaches to become the offensive coordinator, which would be an upgrade of creativity and effective use of personnel. Maybe I’m drinking my own bathwater, but if our blue does not complete a pass on first down the next play is always a run between the tackles. Every team that plays our blue, knows this and stacks up against the run on second down, bringing it to third and long. Time to change it up.

I also am concerned that the passing game is overly predictable. Except for the occasional deep heaves, every throw is a quick-hit “short and to the outside” — the kind of passes that could be anticipated by DB’s, who can then jump the route and result in a pick-six. It’s a matter of time before that happens. It feels like we have no intermediate routes, and nothing over the middle. If this is intentional, I have no idea why. If it’s because those throws are a weakness for Dante, then either work on rectifying that, or go with a QB who can make the throws (if we have one).

Glad to see Xavier Coleman get some playing time on D. He was a key part last year of the overall No. 1 Texas High School football team, 16-0 Ft Worth North Crowley.

It’s been “figured out”. Reno buried the best QB on the roster to 4th string so his son could play. Perk of the job I guess, not sure if he has any more sons that could play for Yale but if he does, I’d think twice if I was a recruit that plays the same position

Gentlemen; I agree with Mr. Voy. The sideline throws on a couple of occasions have been very precarious in some part. Due to the fact the throw may be a little late, and our split ends are not going to the ball. I respect the talent of all of our coaches, but, if we can see it, they must also have eyes on it.

From helmets to cleats, no color found,
The all-white uniform takes the field’s ground.
It speaks of a start, untainted and clean,
A fresh page of story, a pure, pristine scene.
Each stripe and each number, a ghost on the cloth,
A team of clean slate, a luminous moth.
But the whistle will blow and the game will begin,
And the battle for inches, and a chance to win.
The mud of the earth, the grass that is torn,
Will rise to the fabric on this bright, hopeful morn.
And purity fades with each tackle and fall,
With scuffs and with stains that answer the call.
The white takes the dye of the effort and grind,
A testament to all that the game left behind.
And when the clock’s ended, and the last play is done,
The all-white is dirtied, and victory won.
It holds all the stories, the triumphs and pain,
And shows that true glory is not free from stain.

Since we’re on uniforms…
Records since the 2022 introduction of the plain blue “sweatpants” to the uniform set:
7-3 in all-white
2-2 in white jerseys/blue pants
🙂
