Yale 31 Sacred Heart 3

The score looks impressive, but SHU could have made things a lot closer. Kudos to the defense for making big plays when needed.

We obviously have a bunch of big play guys on offense, but lack consistency. Our third down conversions the last two weeks have been terrible. Even after getting 7 or 8 yards on first down. Need to step it up for the Ivy games going forward. The talent is there.

2-11 on third downs today after 2-10 last week. Outgained 344-273. Still put up 31 points, though.

A nice tune up for Penn for next week. OLine is a walking mash unit. But looked better to me. Aside from some stupid penalties.
Defense looked good all around. The youngsters in the D backfield are doing a good job. D Line are creating a lot of pressure on the QB. Linebackers are filling in the gaps. Pitsenberger , Alston and Peterson are getting there.

One of my favorite parts of yesterday’s game was when the referee had to direct the Yale scoreboard operator to refrain from constantly playing brief blasts of music in between snaps. I was super annoyed with that practice as a fan, but more importantly it is unsportsmanlike as it can actually effect the game my preventing audibles and causing false starts.

Another thing I wish would stop is the air horn after touchdowns. It is so loud it drowns out the sound of the band playing “Bulldog”, so fans can’t sing along to it according to tradition. Plus the crowd noise is just swallowed up by the air horn, so why even bother to cheer after a TD. It actually takes the fan and the band out of the game, making for a worse game day experience.

I agree with each of the valid points raised by “Son of Eli”. The obnoxiously high piped in music just needs to stop. It stifles normal conversation. Thank you referee. Actually, the only music I want to hear is what is produced by the YPMB and visiting team’s band. I pay the high cost of the tickets to watch football, not to attend a concert. BTW, please stop the garbage can banging, too.

How many yale fans 1000 ? As long as Vicky Chun is here and her rules you will be lucky to get 1500 at a game. What an embarrassment to see the yale bowl empty like that. Vicky its your responsibility to put fans in the bowl do your job or get out of town.

In Chuns, defense she is clueless to that. Coming from Clotgate that’s a good day.
No need to shake a fist at the sky an curse her name. Plenty of people have mentioned numerous times. Of the prophecy of this happening. It isn’t a surprise at all.

On another note, my favorite moment that took place on the field yesterday was the jet sweep to Tipton resulting in a TD. I’m happy Yale dusted off the playbook for that one. Looking forward to seeing more of that play and other new looks the remainder of the season. Yale needs to get the ball to its playmakers in space more and rely less on the feet of Grooms.

Another play I would like to see more of is the wheel route to Peterson. Unfortunately, he slipped on the wet turf after an eight yard completion, but he had a lot of open field in front of him if he had kept his balance. Would also like to see some RB screen plays. The RB’s need more touches.

Anybody know what’s up with Da’Quan Gonzales? He played extensively at CB as a Freshman but he’s not on the roster this year.

I see him on the roster. Don’t know why he’s hasn’t played.

I also have a question. Is Austin Tutas hurt? I was surprised he’s no longer the #2 QB. I thought he did a great job last year and showed a lot of promise.

They still are unable to run the ball consistently and this let the opponents possess the ball way too much.
