Stats that stood out

Length of game – 3:41

Howard ran 86 plays to Yale’s 64

Yale had 366 net yards rushing

Neither team very good on 3rd down, Howard 5 of 17, Yale 4 of 13

Howard wins TOP at 33:58

That was a hard game to watch, the transmission was like watching paint dry. Hopefully get better, Cuz if they come out like that next Saturday. Dartmouth will kick Yale’s ass.

Maybe Dartmouth fans are saying, if they come out like that next Saturday Yale will kick Dartmouth’s ass.

So who were supposed to be the announcers if the audio had worked today. Is it still Ron and Jack?

Who was the targeting call on at the end? Thanks to the stellar production value I could tell. Hopefully someone that won’t be missed too much for the first half against Dartmouth

That’s not good. We need to be able to slow down their QB running the ball and make him try and move the ball with his arm

Usually targeting is confirmed by instant replay. Were they able to do that with the horrible camera angles (or lack of) on ESPN+

A win is a win, Good for the team. But don’t come out , like that against Dartmouth. As far as the substandard programming from ESPN Plus. Yale put a crew on worth showing . You do realize that families put on the games. From around the country. That’s what you show. Ridiculous and a embarrassment.!! Get your act together.

Oh get a damn radio station back in the mix. 2nd largest endowment. Cheap as a 2 dollar , you fill out the blank

Howard is whooping it up on their Football site. A Furious rally that fell just short of beating Yale. You know what they’re absolutely correct.

Anyone who went to the game yesterday was treated to an amazing halftime performance by Howard’s marching band. It was such a treat to see a real college marching band perform at the Yale bowl, instead of the clown shows we typically get from the assorted Ivy League bands. Also Howard brought out a good crowd, in spite of the bad weather. I would like to see the Harmony Football Classic hosted at Yale again.

Give a big hand to the unimaginative Band Director. . Who does just enough to earn a paycheck. Boring and idiotic

I see that Foye Oluokun, who signed with Jacksonville in the off season, is wearing number 23, the same number he had at Yale

He had 16 tackles, 12 solo, and 3 TFL today! He is possibly the best LB in the NFL right now.

150 years of Yale Football , new uniforms for the Dartmouth Game on Saturday. Blue helmets cream Y, Blue pants, cream Jersey.
On the Yale Football website

Why now? This is team 149, not 150. Nevertheless I am not in favor of this any year. Just wear a patch.

Well, if they’re doing this now instead of their actual 150th season I’m guessing they are going to do it every year; so I’ll have to get used to it.

To me the best way to honor Yale’s history and tradition is to wear the classic Blue and White uniforms they’ve worn for more than half a century. But if they really wanted to do a uniform to honor the past they should have gone back to the 1950’s gold pants uniforms instead of making up a new one.

I don’t think the team’s record was very good wearing the “mustard” pants, so harking back to a losing look might not be the best idea.
My main gripe is the helmet. Since leather helmets were phased out, Yale has worn blue helmets…never. So, how is a blue helmet “honoring the past?” It’s not. It’s a costume-of-the-week gimmick.
I agree with you, Son of Eli, that the best way to honor a legacy is to stick with it. The uniforms have been largely untouched for 60 years; stick with it.
(BTW, has anyone noticed that on the jerseys this year – including these “throwbacks” – there’s no longer any Yale wordmark or logo, but there’s a large Under Armour one. I think that tells us who’s driving this change-for-change’s-sake bus.

The 1955 Yale team did beat #12 ranked Army wearing these uniforms. That makes them the perfect option to wear if I’m right in my guess that Yale will be playing Army next year to celebrate their 150th anniversary.

Correction, Army was ranked #19. Also checked Yale’s record in the ‘50’s. It was pretty good. They only had two losing seasons and 1956 was an Ivy Championship.

After loosing to Dartmouth 8 of the last 9 years maybe it’s time to try changing the uniform against them. That might be the best argument for it.

We defeated or tied Dartmouth from 1894 through 1937 and had no truck with Hanover until 1973. Our 19th century stalwarts (and their immediate successors) would be horrified by the recent turn of events and distressed to see their uniforms profaned as gimmicks. Such a shame that Eleazer Wheelock, Yale ’33 (1733) didn’t find other outlets.

Don’t poke the bear. Teevens is 8-1 vs Tony and have heard some former staffers say that Dartmouth “lives rent free” in Reno’s head. Although I think We are more talented than Dartmouth this year.

Yale is “more talented” most years. Execution and strategy are where things usually fall apart. The “rent free” comment sounds spot-on. Either that, or the Curse of the Billy Goat and the Curse of the Bambino have been joined by the modern-day Curse of the Water Bottle Kicking Tee.

Roger you last, VV. Teevens out coaches us. Murphy and Surace are out recruiting us. The class of 2020 was a wonderful anomaly.

Gentlemen; the only thing that may be said about our squads attempted sartorial splendor is gaudy. Let us hope this latest attempted motivation has an inspirational effect for our squad against the Indians this weekend as opposed to a distraction. Hopefully numbers 34 and 11 will return for this contest.

To the Yale coach in charge of instate recruitment. Micheal Dietalbaum of Naugatuck Highschool. Are you guys looking at him. He’s like another Pitsenberger. But bigger. Straight A student. Get on the ball
