Wow.!!! What a through ass whipping.!!! What and improvement , from the other games. Yale was to much for Fordham, In aspects of the contest. Coach Reno, nothing but class, bringing up the Youngins and getting them into the game at the END of the 3rd Qt.
Well done , very proud of this team. Can’t wait to see how this season proceeds. Be able to witness history in the making..!! Go Bulldogs
Nothing like getting off to a fast start! Hope the team remembers how good it feels!
Defense really stepped up with a dominating performance. Hoping Pegues is ok. Offense hummed along. Rawlings was sharp.
Best defensive effort of the year. I don’t care how bad Fordham’s defense is, they have a great offense, especially with Chase Edmonds in the game. The fact that they were held to only 10 points is truly impressive.
I agree with Jon H. Reno could have run up the score on Fordham as badly as Army did. The fact that he didn’t was not only classy, it was smart. When Morgan Roberts was QB you couldn’t get him out of the game to give a chance for another QB. to develop. Yale paid the price for that in 2016. It’s great to see Reno now using opportunities like these to develop his players. Also it’s a great way to limit injuries to our starters as well.
I was pleased to see the penalty problem rectified. Yale was only penalized 3 times yesterday, compared to 14 last week and 10 against Lehigh.
Another Freshman made his mark as Awodiran had a great game. He was all over the field involved in almost every play. Purvey looked good at running back too to run out the clock with a sustained drive.
The test on whether this team is for real will be next week at Dartmouth. Yale took 3-0 teams into the Dartmouth game in 2013,14 and 15 only to be beaten by Dartmouth. In 2015 Teevens added insult to injury by running up the score. This year Yale needs to get revenge.
Will Yale Dartmouth be a sell out next Sat?
It sold out in 2015, so I say yes.
So far the schedule has been very favorable to Yale. This week begins the grind. I actually glad its out of town. This will allow the team to concentrate fully on the game alone.
