Yale fans that were looking forward to seeing Nathan Puletasi suit up for the Elis next season were disappointed last week when his name was missing from the incoming class posted by the Yale Football Twitter account. This is nothing new for the Yale faithful as we typically see one to three recruits head to Choate every recruiting cycle. This year we were fortunate enough to land Patrick Nauert, a 6’4″, 270 lb. defensive lineman from the Air Force Academy. Some posters have reported his current weight as high as 300 lbs. 24/7 Sports ranked Nauert as a two star prospect out of high school and he held offers from four FBS schools: Air Force, Toledo, Ball State, and Ohio. He’s a very strong defender with a quick first step and the speed to chase down backs. Check out his footage on Hudl: https://www.hudl.com/profile/3400629/Patrick-Nauert

gentlemen; now that summer is officially upon us i for one with pencil and paper am looking for some glorious afternoons at campo beach in part projecting our blue starting lineups for the fall season. i would be interested in other members thoughts on this subject.
Yale twitter lists Nauert @ 300 lbs. Hyperbole?
Is Nathan Puletasi going to Choate? the article does not read clear to me. Is he still committed to Yale? Thanks in advance for the clear explanation!!
Josh Keeler is 290 lbs. and was ranked 5th of DLs in FLA in senior year in HS. Spencer M came out of nowhere at 281 lbs. Keeler had 10 total tackles last year and Spencer had 24 I think it all has to do with what
The coaches do with these promising players. They bring the assets. Can the staff manage those assets into winning football?
Keeler was playing hurt (or not playing at all) last year. Let’s hope he’s fully recovered this fall.
I WAS TOLD A FEW MONTHS AGO BY A VERY GOOD SOURCE THAT PULETASI WOULD BE ATTENDING CHOATE.
The key to contending this year will be getting the defense consistent and formidable. Dartmouth, Princeton and Harvard absolutely shredded the Yale defense last year and the issues go way beyond youth and personnel.
The staff realized changes were in order and there has been a reorganization of responsibilities. The talent is on the roster. The question is whether we develop the right scheme, match the talent to the scheme, and make the in-game adjustments.
Absent injuries, Rawlings, Shofi, Dudek, Lamar and company could break scoring records on the new turf. The leadership is in place. It is going to be a very interesting year because expectations are high, and they should be.
This is the first All-Conference prediction I have seen for 2019. Not sure who the College Football Network is but I sure do like having 9 of our projected starters on the first and second teams.
he CFB Network All-Ivy League 1st Team Offense:
QB: Jared Gerbino (Dartmouth)
RB: Aaron Shampklin (Harvard)
RB: Alan Lamar (Yale)
AP: Harold Coles (Cornell)
WR: Reed Klubnik (Yale)
WR: JP Shohfi (Yale)
TE: JJ Howland (Yale)
C: Alex Deters (Princeton)
OL: Reily Radosevich (Princeton)
OL: Liam Shanahan (Harvard)
OL: Dieter Eiselen (Yale)
OL: Sterling Strother (Yale)
Ivy League 2nd Team Offense:
QB: Kurt Rawlings (Yale)
RB: Karekin Brooks (Penn)
RB: Zane Dudek (Yale)
AP: Collin Eaddy (Princeton)
WR: Livingstone Harriott (Brown)
WR: Ronald Smith (Columbia)
TE: Connor Rempel (Dartmouth)
C: Parker Coogan (Columbia)
OL: Phil Lynch (Brown)
OL: Jeff Gibbs (Penn)
OL: Greg Begnoche (Penn)

And now the scoreboard, if you please.
Unfortunately, don’t hold your breath. I wonder at the cheapness of this institution. Lack of wisdom it continuously shows . In its efforts to do the right thing. That always falls short.
I’m totally holding my breath with great confidence that I’ll be able to exhale well before Labor Day when the team returns to action.
Good for you……
Not much mention so far about Yale’s kicking game. New players at LS and P/K, Lack of experience may be a factor in close games.
More updates please.
Anytime, would be nice.
what updates do you expect to come in late June?
Hey Wall St Dog, Profiles of the New Recruits. 2) Eli Football camp. 3) off season conditioning. Oh and how about the The new turf.?
A lot more than you could ever imagine . Smell ya later
Good news.
It appears (can anyone confirm?) that Chip Malafronte of the New Haven Register, who covers our lacrosse team, will be covering our football team as well. He’s an excellent writer.
I love Chip Malafronte’s writing, but I don’t think he even works for the New Haven Register anymore, other than an occasional freelance piece. It no longer runs his Sunday Gravy column, which was always must reading for me. If he’s covering Yale Football as a freelance writer that would be awesome.
Looks like Chip Malafronte is covering Yale football for the New Haven Register, through a premium service known as “CT Insiders”. Just enter your email address and you can read it. Although I’m sure they will sell that address and you’ll get hit with spam. It a good article so it’s worth it::

Word on Any Given Saturday site is that Stony Brook is visiting Yale in 2020. I assume that means Yale will make the return trip in 2021.
Poster might have meant in Basketball. Seeking clarification.
Any idea what Yale D might look like this year? Any definite or probable starters. Hopefully we’re better than last year
I confirmed the two game series with Stony Brook is in basketball, not football.
Anyone know who Yale is playing in 2020 besides Richmond and Holy Cross?
I thought it was Mercer, down in Georgia.?
Fordham. 10/05 at home 1 pm.
JH- Mercer series resumes in 2021 in Georgia. Then it’s in New Haven 2022 and concludes in 2023 at Georgia.
Anonymous, I’m asking for 2020, not 2019. 10/5 is the game this year with Fordham.
