Footage posted on Yale Football’s Twitter page showed Tyler Jost at Left Tackle, Dieter Eiselen at Left Guard, Sterling Strother at Center, Steven Cepalia at Right Guard and Cameron Warfield at Right Tackle. Is this a preview of the starting lineup or is Reno simply tinkering with the lineup to find the best possible combination?
Practices this week will be held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The Saturday practice will take place at Bowen Field as part of the “Our New Haven” event. Yale coaches will run a youth clinic beginning at 12:30 PM on Saturday and the players will take the field at 2 PM for the last practice of Spring Ball.
Men’s Lacrosse beat Brown on Saturday 17-12. Men’s Baseball continues the downward spiral dropping 4 straight games since Wednesday.

Tyler Yost has been taking a few first team reps but Nick Gargiulo has mostly been playing Left. Checked out a practice last week and you are correct about the rest of the first team. Lot of practice left before we get retribution on Holy Cross but I do like Sterling doing damage on the inside. Gargiulo started last years Spring game as a freshman but was injured most of the regular season. Really like our Oline Depth this year. The rest of the Yale offense is not to shabby either.
Some posters have remarked about the lack of a “blue white” scrimmage as were held in past Spring practice seasons. Don’t know whether other Ivy schools have decided to forego this as well but it seems to fall in line with other changes that have been made by Yale to reduce the chances of injuring our players.
I am sure having a spring practice is better than not having one but for the fans I don’t think there is much that that can be gleaned from a few practices in April as far as who will be making an impact in the coming season other than those players we already know about from the 2017 and 2018 regular season games.
Biggest question for this year – how’s the defense? Did anyone standout on that side of the ball?
What about James Jones, Yale’s basketball coach, interviewing at St. John’s? He didn’t get the job, but are we going to lose him?
According to the Register, Jones will be staying at Yale.
Yale’s offense beat the defense 5 quarters to 4. Rawlings states in the article below that the defense has been strong this spring. Would be interested in hearing feedback from anyone who attended today.
