Thank you very much. Looking like a great bunch of young man. No running back yet.
Is Quincy Briggs gone for good? How many commits are we aiming for?
Was about to ask the same question. I know the normal class of 30was reduced for COVID, but I can’t remember to what and for how long.
SOE,
Your message on the previous thread about the last time Yale faked a punt reminded me of this famous Brian Dowling story from his freshman season.
**The Dowling legend began that freshman season. Back to punt on fourth and 11, Brian saw an opening and ran 20 yards for a first down, but the play was nullified by a penalty. Before play resumed, the freshman coach Harry Jacunski asked Dowling why he had run and Brian responded, “I saw something in their defense I knew I could exploit.” Faced now with fourth and 26, Brian ran again, for 35 yards. Mortified, the coach asked him the $64,000 question again. “Well, coach. I saw the same thing” Brian answered.**
Too bad we didn’t have Dowling punting in 2009!
Or 1987.
Yale basketball game isn’t being televised. The Momouth site is horrible to the info.. should be on radio for crying out loud.! Is this something that Yale could bring back. For next year..
Ask Vicki
The question is, does WELI want to air Yale games anymore?
I think WYBC 94.3 FM is now a commercial station with no real ties to Yale. But I think there’s an internet version of WYBC for Yalies to program; it’d be nice if they could broadcast sports. One of my YBC colleagues in the ’80s, Chris Bodig, went on to work for ESPN.
I was told by WELI that the decision to not broadcast the Yale football games was Yale’s decision, not WELI
I saw Ron Vaccaro, at the Princeton game. He said it was this administration’s decision not to continue with radio. Amazing what a brilliant idea that was from someone , from Colgate made.
BRING BACK THE RADIO .
Yale’s decision? Inexplicable. And terrible — no way that increases attendance. Would they even let the WYBC students broadcast games on their website??
Not only that , there are a lot of people that don’t have the internet. Radio , it maybe out dated but it is timeless.
Not only that , Yale has always had fantastic broadcasting. Ron Vaccaro and Coach Sidlecki are exceptional. It’s a travesty not to have it.
Extremely short sighted an down right stupid. We are not Colgate
There should be a simulcast with ESPN+ and WELI. One set of broadcasters. Get as much coverage of Yale football as possible.
I used to always bring a transistor radio to the Bowl. You could get the up to date stats as the game progressed and listen to some post game comments on the way back to the car.
Go to Momouth radio , it’s on the internet, yes radio would be nice to have . For Yale games.
Yale up 52 to 21 2nd half 7:30 left
55 to 21 14:30 2nd
Game is being replayed on SNY 4:00 tomorrow.
Yale 76 to 44 boys were on 🔥
Matt Knowling missed his third consecutive game. Any info as to his situation?
Knowling has a injury to his arm could be out a few more weeks. Big loss if any longer.
Announcers last night said Knowling was day to day. I think he’ll be back for the start of Ivy League play a week from Saturday.
TO RAY JOHN SON OF ELI BERNIE DREW BUZZ STAN MERRY CHRISTMAS.
To you all as well!
And to all a great night , Merry Christmas . Here’s to learning of more Yale Football news of commitments coming to New Haven.

Who is Yales #1 recruit in football for 2023. Why is this year . Yale seems to be lagging all the other Ivy teams except Cornell, in player ranking’s.?
I also noticed 247 doesn’t update, players who commit. Any thoughts on this matter.?
John this is a very good Yale recruiting class would like to see like yourself a big running back come in time will tell. These kids are all good in my book. Who is the best hard to tell . there are three i like Phoenix Grant can play any where offense and defense would like to see him at running back get him up to 205 his so year could be a winner anywhere he plays. Spencer merman TE good hands he a tank he will hurt you. Jessie Schutzman could be one of the best LB at Yale in a long time good against the run and can cover RB and TE going to be fun to watch him and this outstanding group of recruits.
Need to take the ratings with a grain of salt anyway. Most recent years Yale has had a higher ranked class than North Dakota State on 247 Sports. Also the past has shown us that 3 star recruits don’t always live up to the high expectations. The most important determinant to success is passion, which is harder to measure.
Xavier Avera decmmit ?
Ray, I don’t see that he has.. why do think that.?
JOHN,
HIS PICTURES NO LONGER APPEAR ON THE YALE FOOTBALL TWITTER WEBSITE.
He is still committed to Yale per his Twitter page.
SOE ,
GREAT !
THAHKX,
New commit: Tajh Landrum OLB, 6’2”, 200lbs, Cincinnati OH. Offers from Army, Navy and Columbia.
How did men’s basketball manage to lose to a terrible Columbia team?
Did Knowling play
Boy what a way to start the season a loss to columbia bad game by yale. Give credit to columbia they took it to yale .Columbia has more speed then Yale and has an inside game. Yale does not Jarvis and Knowling and Kelly will get there points but we need someone to bang the boards and score inside. Shut down our guards and Yale is in trouble Knowling had a good game were all glad he back.Just an idea maybe jones should give Nick Townsend more playing time if he is like is dad and i think he is he will help our inside game. I have seen all the teams play Cornell is my pick to win the league. All the teams are good its going to be a wild year good luck to everyone.
Nick Gargiulo and Wande Owens both named as 1st Team All New England.
https://nefootballjournal.com/2023/01/02/college-2022-d1-all-new-england-college-football-teams/
Yale has nine players in total named All New England. By Comparison Holy Cross has 13. All but two for Yale will be returning next year.
Holy Cross only has 3 of their 13 All New England returning compared to Yale’s 7.
HC is a must win next year. They were the better team last year, at least when they played, but they weren’t in 2018 and 2020 and Yale needs to make a statement.
2021, not 2020
Congratulations to the Yale Mens Hockey program. In beating Army last night 5-1 . To the Yale Women’s Hockey Team, in beating Mercyhurst. 3-1 . For the 1st time out of 13 games
Shows how far Men’s hockey has fallen. Dartmouth is 2-11 this season. Guess who their two wins were against?
Any news on anything.?
