Yale 24 Dartmouth 21

It feels a lot better being 3-1 after beating Dartmouth than 3-1 after loosing to Dartmouth.

Happy with the win (finally), but I hope we are done with letting teams back in the game after getting a big lead.

Accolades to the Bulldogs for beating the Big Green for the first time since 2016. Brandon Benn’s forcing and recovering the fumble at Yale’s one yard line and Hamilton Moore’s interception to seal the game were really important achieving this win. Pitsenberger didn’t look 100% yet but thank goodness for Tre Peterson.

This game is always the litmus test for the season. After winning this one I think Yale will cruise until a “championship” game against the Cantabs. Crazy to think it’s been 6 years since playing in Cambridge

Hamilton Moore gets my vote for the most pleasant surprise of the season. He’s had a tremendous year so far.

Gentlemen; Number 15 has indeed been one of the stars of the show this season. Nail biting win against the Indians. Disappointing attendance despite perfect pigskin weather.

Yale has pissed off the common man, Yale turned its back on the people. There are other things to do without being hassled. Nuff said

That sounds worse than it is. Cornell and Howard got garbage touchdowns when those game were already over. Today’s game was different because Yale had a few opportunities to really put the game out of reach and didn’t.

2 short punts and some foolish interceptions let Dartmouth back into the game.. Grooms has talent but he is still a turnover machine. Stick to the run game. The offensive line dominated the whole game.

Will Harvard try to upstage us by tricking out their players in the pre-Gortex garb of the 1630s?

One thing that was refreshing to observe sitting near Yale sideline last week, was minimal trash talking from the team to Dartmouth. In prior years it was infuriating to hear the incessant trash talking which Tony must have encouraged. Maybe the AD finally got in his ear about it

Saturday’s “crowd” of 6,300 was particularly poor considering it was Parents Weekend. If every student went to the game with their parents they would have had approximately. 15,000 in attendance, not including any alumni and local fans. That begs the question, why are Yale students so unsupportive of the football program?

SOE, that’s the point. That V.C. and people like you don’t get. The majority of academia don’t like sports, NEVER HAVE AND THEY NEVER WILL. . You want crowds stop being prickish to the community.
Do you really think that back in the day, that when the Bowl was filled or at least nice crowds. It was alumni and the student body.? Really , it was people from New Haven County, Fairfield County and Middlesex county and beyond.
The Student body with graduates students was 8,000 people. Today maybe 12,000 .
For a bunch of smart people, you don’t have much common sense. It’s a very expensive day for a young family of 4 . $10 to park, used to be free, $ 48 dollars 2 tickets for adults., good and drinks $30 do you see where we’re headed. To much money in this economy .

The only time alumni and partial student body comes out is for THE GAME. Most don’t even watch it. They’re busy catching up on the past year or so.
The good old days, never to be seen . You could switch the venue to Hamden High and it still wouldn’t be a sell out. You can pack 10,000 at Hamden Football Field. Hamden vs Notre Dame Thanksgiving Games. Better Food to boot

FOX NEWS HAS AN INTERESTING ARTICLE RE THE OUTCOME OF THE INVETIGATION RE THE DEATH OF KYLE MULLEN !

What do you think attendance would be if they offered 25 cent beer to any student or new haven resident. Would that jack up attendance? Or raffle off $1000 at each game?

LoJack , what elitist entitled answer, good for you. When Tom Beckett was the AD, Yale had an open door policy, you could go back to your car and eat drink. Come back if you wished. Now if you do leave, you have to buy another ticket. You could bring in your own food. Kids 12 and under were free. Most people aren’t as privileged as YOU..
Economy especially now , Most people don’t have that extra money. $100.00 would be best doing something else. Instead of a unwelcoming Yale Football Game.
So LoJack, 00.25 cent beer would not be welcome. Due to the incident of DKE having a spectator getting run over . at the Harvard game a few years ago. ( jackass)

Start the games at 2 PM. Students aren’t dressed and out of brunch by noon. Let in everyone except old doggies like us who purchase reserved seats – for free! Let people park – for free! Yale doesn’t need the money.

If you want g to be NFL fans to come Sell beer! They do it at other college venues. At university of Memphis games I have purchased mixed drinks at the stadium.

What has happen to all the great running backs we recruited the last few years no one plays. Have they left the team. Were are Josh Eboboko and Jacob Stafford and the young kids Wihelm Daal Nathan Denney. Peterson needs help. Is Alston out for good What the story with Pissenberger will he play soon. If peterson goes down were in trouble.

We are unlikely to get any news about Alston (pre-season Ivy 1st team RB) from Yale. Part of the secrecy policy of the Reno era. The Bucknell game should allow us to see who is available at RB and other key positions (Nenaad, Sandifer, Aaron, etc..)

Alston suffered torn ACL in Spring…Denney been given some reps as #20 this season. Numerous injuries to the WR group but line running back room, tons of depth and playmakers.

Re: How to improve attendance. For the suggestion box:

Free admission and Yale t shirts for kids 12 and under.
Free admission and parking for seniors 65 and over.
Weekly award of special discount coupons to local eateries for students who attend the games. End of season grand prize ( to be determined) to the residential college that has the most students attend the games.
Half price on tickets for parents of Yale undergraduate and graduate students..

Gentlemen; Just one man’s opinion regarding increase in attendance is simply go back to the old standards. Children under 12 for free; free parking; reentry and incentives to local high schools throughout the state of Connecticut to attend. Game time 1 PM.. Our squad should play before bigger crowds it is up to the administration to promote attendance which after the Indian contest was a sad attendance at best given a perfect pigskin day to attend.

I saw several players/coaches from a local HS on Saturday. Several Yale players were wearing gear from this HS after the game

In the 50’s and 60’s organizations like the jaycees, the elks, and others, would be permitted to bring kids In their towns and neighborhoods to the Bowl free of charge, for a game or two early in the year, to help spark local interest and hopefully make fans for life. That’s how I became interested in Yale.

Me too, I have a 6 year old grand nephew, who had a blast last weekend. He wants to go again. Yale , you wanna grow a fan base. Don’t have restrictions, allow people to bring in their own food. What’s a sub , gonna do. That no reentry policy is Asinine at best. Loosen up the regulations.
People wanna come in. The administration needs to make them feel welcome. Not the way it is now.
