Yale 56 Brown 34

Brown had 33 first downs and was 10-17 converting on 3rd down (3 of 4 on 4th down). If not for the 4 turnovers we would have bean sweating it out in the 4th quarter.

Obviously, Jordan, Pantelis, and the offense were spectacular.

May bien los futbal de Yale. Vamonos a la Princeton el Sabado, 16 Noviembre. Corren para muchos TDs! (Yo soy un hombre sincere, de donde crece la Palma.)

I would like to see Brown#8 or McKoy # 13 at wide receivers. Or 28 and 5 at Running back, get these players into these games.!! These guys are to good to STAY ON BENCH.!!
Why not rest Jordan , get your 2nd , 3rd stringers in. Game time experience. No wonder Aidan left for Florida.!! Go Gators!!

Brown has some of the most explosive hs tape and could be the best wr on this team and still hasn’t played in his tenure here. This is a confusing one

This team is like a yo-yo, up and down. Just when you think they’ve turned the corner, they lay an egg. This week they were back on the upswing due to historically strong performances by Pantellus and Jordan. Now’s the time to drive to the finish line with no more let downs. Win the next two and Yale is HYP (aka Big 3) Champions and have a winning season with a 7-3 (4-3) record. The senior class could be proud to go out with that. Go Bulldogs!

If Yale had beaten Dartmouth like they should have, we would be in the exact same situation as last year. Win the last two for a share of a two loss title.

Yup. They would control their own destiny and could deliver harvards second loss. Dartmouth would have two losses via H and Y. Brutal. Jordan has been great but missing the throw on the conversion vs. Dartmouth was the biggest play of the season. So much went wrong in that fourth quarter – real shame

While the missed conversion was obviously a big play, so was the the onside kick and the two missed FG’s any one of which would have won the game.

Dartmouth, opening series was the call. To not kick the field goal. Instead of that ridiculous trick play to conforti. FOR NOTHING..!! Analytics my behind.

Congratulations to Tony Reno for passing Jack Siedlecki and moving into sole possession of second place in all-time coaching wins at Yale with 72 wins. He is now behind only the legendary Carmen Cozza.

Unfortunately Tony is an ass-hat. Very good coach but wtf is with the players trash talking on sidelines vs opponents. What leader of men tolerates that bs?

That’s not football, that’s garbage. Yale is a step above that kind of classless buffoonery.! Read a book.

Every sport being mentioned and honored except for Football.?! What’s up Yale.? Why do You Hate Yale Football. How about Dr. Pat Ruwe and Yale Football Association. Strap them on guys . Stop sniffing the kitty litter.!! Have some Pride

gentlemen; odd as it may seem and highly unlikely, there still is a path for our blue to gain another ancient eight championship at 4–3 sharing the title with four other squads. For the senior members on the squad, the outstanding carrot dangling is most certainly a big three title, and of course, the joy of victory at the horseshoe on the river Charles.

Big score anyone known if reno used the underclassman in the game to gain some playing time for next year ?

IF….
Yale beats Princeton AND Harvard, and
Dartmouth loses to Cornell (this week) AND Brown, and
Harvard loses to Penn (this week), and
Columbia loses to either Brown (this week) OR Cornell…
Yale will share an Ivy title at 4-3.
According to Massey ratings, the odds of all of that happening are, at best, 1 in 334.
To quote Jim Carey’s character in “Dumb and Dumber” — “So, you’re telling me there’s a chance!!!”

If Yale beats Princeton and Harvard it will be a successful year. Not a great year. A successful year with a couple of big what ifs. I think we all have come to expect more than a 4-3 Ivy record.

Of the years when Yale won the Big Three without winning the Ivy crown, 1957 stands out in my memory We beat Princeton, the eventual Ivy champion, in a close game at Palmer stadium and then demolished Harvard at the Bowl with the superb passing of Dick Winterbauer and the impressive receiving talents of Mike Cavallon. Princeton’s only Ivy loss was to Yale. Yale’s record was 4-2-1 that year but those last two wins made that season very enjoyable and that team has been one of my favorites through all the decades since. It was an exciting team to watch even without winning the championship.

When my Dad, was alive. There were certain years , teams and games he would talk about. That year 1957. Those 2 games would always leave a glint in his eyes and a smile on his face.

I feel the same way about the ’84 Elis who won the Big Three and finished 6-3 after the one-win disaster of the year before.

The 54-0 blowout in 1957 against Harvard is one of the first Yale games I remember seeing on TV.

Yes, ’55, ’56, ’57 were all great years in the Bowl and abroad. Alas, they were followed by ’58, my year, about which we need say nothing here or elsewhere.

Sigh , it seems on this Blog, we have 7 or 9 passionate Yale Football Fans. How could Yale cultivate a bigger fan base.
Stop what you’re doing now. Try another approach to football. What’s the adage. Don’t kick a DEAD Horse.!! In this case a DEAD Bulldog.!! What a shame.

Well we are all in touch with other fans. We should forward this link to them occasionally and see if we get any traction. It’s a really easy forum to participate in – free, no email needed, etc. But don’t despair – in truth, it only takes a handful of fans to make the forum rewarding. The lax board is pretty successful IMO and it only has a few regulars

Gentlemen; the 1957 squad was enjoyable to watch but much an enigma, especially the tie with the Quakers.

Gentlemen; the sophomore core squad of the 1958 team became the principal contributors of the undefeated 1960 squad and a fantastic run in 1959 until the Indian contest including five straight shutouts. yes 1958 was a disaster, including the 50–8 shellacking at the hands of the tigers. Regrettably, having attended all of those contests including away games at the Bears, Lions and Cantabs.
