Yale 42 Princeton 28

Assuming Pantellus will be out for next week’s game at Harvard I expect that Joey Felton will step up with a career day to fill the void.

After getting home from the game I’m watching the coverage On Demand. Late in the first half the announcers said Pantellus had recovered and wanted to come back in the game! That is a hopeful sign for next week.

A Yale win in The Game and a Columbia win at home over Cornell would give Columbia its second Ivy football title (the other in 1961). Dartmouth could tie too if they win at home over Brown plus an Eli victory.

I would hate to see a Yale win give Dartmouth a piece of the title. On the other hand, it wouldn’t bother me if Columbia got a piece.

Imagine if Harvard, Columbia, and Dartmouth all lose. Harvard would win the title outright with two losses.

Yale had no business losing to Dartmouth or Columbia. 4 points separating them. From having a true championship game . In Alston next Saturday.

Coming into this season there was quite a bit of consternation over who would be the starting qb since so little was known of the contenders who would have big shoes to fill as a successor Nolan Grooms. Credit must be given to Reno and his staff for having an undiscovered talent in Grant Jordan, a senior who took one snap at the most prior to this season and on the depth chart (if there is one) probably was not even in the three deep. Grant has had an even more impressive first year performance than Rawlings or Grooms. Too bad his first year as starter is also his last year as a Yale player. The Jordan to Pantelis pass combo was unexpected but has been a joy to watch.
We all know how important it is to have Pantelis back for The Game. If he’s 100% ready then “Harvard’s team may fight to the end But Yale will win. ” Go Bulldogs!!

Did whoever you asked say why, because it seems based on his lack of playing time the last few years, that he should be able to do just that.

Doesn’t the Ivy League consider a season of eligibility has been completed if the player is enrolled in classes during the competition season whether he plays or not? The extra Covid year will also burn off with the class graduating this year as well.

He has ncaa eligibility. Probably he’s just completed too many academic semesters already to do that. Now, if the Ivy League would only allow for graduate student eligibility it would be a different story.

I wonder if he still wants to coach. He is pressing seventy. Then again, maybe he doesn’t want to leave coaching on a down note.

Seems to me Yale has been burned repeatedly this season while blitzing, both by the ground and by the air. They need to be more judicious on when to blitz and disguise it better when they do.

Gentlemen; I agree the blitzes should be disguised better and should be more off the defensive end which have been more effective. However, we need to blitz especially on passing downs because linebackers are ineffective in pass coverage especially crossing patterns.

Riddle me this , why haven’t The Yale Football staff offer Tanner Raymond a spot at Yale.
6’3” 225lbs TE. Offers from Columbia, Fordham and Harvard.? Good hands , major upswing to get better.

Gentlemen; I agree not to give up on the current defensive coordinator who has been obviously hamstrung with the lack of available personnel at the linebacking position. However, that begs the question as to the reason why there is not more quality at this position to coach.

Lehigh seems like a fall back option now. I also think scheduling Holy Cross to such a long term series was a mistake. Nothing against HC, but it is like when we scheduled Colgate from 1968 to 1975(?). I thought that series would never end and in those days, playing UConn every year made for the exact same boring schedule. Hopefully the third OOC game will not be the same old same old.

Perhaps the a 3rd OOC game in sunny Florida or North Carolina would be good – getting some retired alumni engagement and breaking up the meteorological austerity of a New England-only schedule.

After we got back from CT last month we went to see my granddaughter who is a junior at Colorado State. When you go up I-25 through Colorado Springs the Air Force Academy Stadium is visible from the highway. I thought to myself what a great place for a Yale road trip.

I looked to see about getting a couple of tickets for Yale Harvard game Saturday. Stub hub wanted $200.00 for 1 .!! No thanks .!!

Gentlemen; the huskies at the bowl on October 18 should be an appropriate choice. now up to the athletic Director to finally get on the ball.

YALE OWES AFA A GAME, THEY PLAYED AT THE BOWL IN 1980. YALE WON!
