We’ll kickoff our recruiting impressions by taking a look at the top two incoming recruits as ranked by 247sports.com:
Ezekiel Larry– 6’1”, 240 lbs., OLB/DE, Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA)
Notable offers: Florida, Colorado, Fresno State
One of Reno’s top defensive line recruits to date, Larry has the size, speed and power to be an instant contributor at defensive end. Larry’s quickness and finesse moves allow him to quickly disengage from would-be blockers but he also demonstrates tremendous power when bull-rushing through offensive tackles. He displays relentless pursuit in the open field and is a sure-fire tackler often dislodging the ball from quarterbacks and running backs. The Bulldog’s defensive line was already the strongest returning unit for 2022 and just added another layer of depth and physicality to solidify the defensive trenches for years to come.
Quincy Briggs– 5’11”, 170 lbs., CB/WR, Memphis Central (Memphis, TN)
Notable offers: Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee
When breaking down film on Briggs, it’s difficult to not draw comparisons to Melvin Rouse. Briggs is a do-it-all athlete with the skillset to return punts, blanket wide receivers and stretch secondaries at the collegiate level. LSU offered Briggs a scholarship after his freshman season and intended to utilize him as a wide receiver; however, we feel his biggest contributions could come on the defensive side of the ball. Briggs shows a deep understanding of zone schemes and has the innate instinct to play the ball in the air. Despite his low weight, Briggs packs a punch upon contact. Briggs could develop into a terror for opposing Ivy League quarterbacks who have become far too reliant on throwing to their first read.

YALE COMMIT:
DAYYAN O” NEAL D/E , 6 ‘ 4″ , 245 LBS. CALVARY DAY H.S., SAVANNAH, GA.
9 GAMES: 17 SOLO TACKLES, 18 ASSIST TACKLES, 5.5 TACKLES FOR LOSS.
ALSO, JA CK PELLETIER , RECRUITING COORDINATOR , HAS RESIGNED
WHY?!!
Neal , wants to go too Yale . That’s why..?!!
Harvard has released its 2022 schedule. Hopefully Yale will release theirs soon
Can’t wait for the Yale-University of New Haven bloodbath
I don’t think you should be such a snob. I believe UNH would give YALE all it could handle! I love Yale football but I also think the game would not happen as the powers to believe feel that UNH is beneath them!
Merrimack (D2 disguised as FCS) and Howard (Georgetown by another name) — two real stretch games for the Crimson. Dartmouth would be proud.
Another strong addition to Yale’s coaching ranks. This may be the best coaching staff Yale’s had since the days of Carm Cozza.
https://yalebulldogs.com/news/2022/2/24/anderson-tabbed-to-coach-yale-footballs-defensive-backs.aspx
Good news. Desperately need some new blood to coach DBs. Reno has always thought coaching DBs was his personal specialty and we have all seen the results of that — talented players with horrible technique
The high caliber of recruits Yale attracts deserves the best possible coaching staff and the DB’s have been Yale’s biggest weakness, not counting the dumb penalties at the absolute worst time.
Looking forward to a great 2022 season.
Yale lost to Penn state 10 to 6
In football?
I was pondering on 1 of the other posters on this board. Then I looked at BGA and Roar Lions and Tiger blog which talks as the 3rd person. (Weird).
But they have something new all the time. Yale’s blog is so BORING an MUNDANE ..!!!
GAWD.!!! Shove a spoon in my eye.!!
Please , I know it’s by volunteer. But could someone please with passion take this.?
something new all the time….I go there and read the posts for my midday nap. Its horrible. I called out some of those clowns for their un needed comments about Kyle and was banned…..lame
What about the other 24 guys .?
Yale just beat Auburn 5-4 in 10 innings.
Good job. Glad they won something on Saturday. Basketball, Hockey, and LAX all lost.
They looked good in the 1st game as well. They couldn’t push that extra run in
Hope coach Jones can get his team to play like they did before the loss to Princeton. The Tigers look like they will win the league championship and probably the Ivy tournament as well.
Here’s to the Men’s basketball team not choking down the stretch. Kids look like they have tired legs.
Not a good time to go into the tank. Princeton looks like their peaking at the right time.
Congratulations to the women’s ice hockey team on their victory in the playoffs against SLU. Beat those Tabby’s…!!
Go Blue.!!
YALE SPRING FOOTBALL PRACTICE STARTS MONDAY MARCH 28th IN THE BOWL. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC !
Of course it’s not. Someone may tell Murphy, Teevens, Surace, Bagnoli, Archer or any number of other coaches. On what is going on at Yale. Who haven’t changed the offense in 10 years. Or for that matter , run down the defensive scheme for the winning score in the last seconds of a game . That should not have been close to being a Yale LOSS.!! Pathetic
Coach Reno how are you did you get any sleep after the harvard game boy that was a bad 42 seconds ?Us all timers have been watching yale football for a long time and were still scratching our heads after that embarrassment lets hope that does not happen again on your watch. By the way you closed yale football practice again why ?Is it because we asked how you were doing or how your kids were doing and your wife. Or was it when we asked what freshman would help the team early in the season.Or what running back looked good.Coach Reno a lot of us have ben watching yale practice for 60 years or better some less but we all have something in common we enjoy it . we liked talking to the players and coaches and seeing each other after a long winter. So coach open practice again for the people who support yale football I promise we won’t bother you. Walt mad dog murray.

5 Best Yale players in FCS era. I agree with top 4. Would have chosen Tyler Varga fir #5 based on his incredible 5 TD performance against Army.

Nice piece on Offensive Line coach Al Netter.

Yale is not playing Mercer this year. Wonder if the whole series has been cancelled.

Yale Men’s Lacrosse are out of the rankings after that loss to Penn State.
For those who remember Brian Ameche.
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/27/books/in-love-amy-bloom.html
Of course I remember him. Didn’t know he was gone. A very good player on some good teams, one of which came so close to greatness.
Son of legend and Heisman winner Alan Ameche
So we only get 2 verified commits. ? Is this a joke . Or we get another 2 in 6 weeks.? Come on man!!!
How about 2022 football commitment list.?
Or news on other sports.
Congratulations to the Lady Bulldogs in advancing to the Hockey finals, by beating the Princeton Tabby’s at Ingalls rink today
Yale men’s ice hockey lost to Colgate in Hamilton, NY. 3-2 in OT. A valiant effort from the Bulldogs.
Yale Lacrosse beat UMASS 13-12 in OT today. Yale has a great new goalie by the name of Jared Paquette who played incredibly.
SOE did you go.? I went today .. fantastic effort by Jared and the rest of the team. I would like to see some of the guys .
Ray, Walt and Mike
No, I didn’t go. I watched it on espn. Lots of great Yale sports to watch today. Just watched Yale beat University of Washington in baseball 8-7 in 10 innings in the front end of a double header.
Yale baseball beat Washington 8-7 in 10 innings
Impressive..!!! Waiting for the men’s Ice hockey tonight
Yale just won 1-0 against U Washington split the series 2-2
Yale one hits Washington and beats them 1-0 to split four game series.
Yale baseball is now is ranked 35th in Division I RPI.

No comments on basketball? 11-3 Ivy League and one of only two to beat Princeton, plus two wins over Harvard (when was the last time that happened?)
When Harvard last stunk. But it’s been a good season. Good luck to the Bulldogs in the tournament!
Just checked. Last time Yale beat Harvard twice was 2015-16. They were 14-16(6-8) that year. Still better than this year’s 13-13 (5-9) Harvard team.
Yale women’s hockey is the #5 seed in the NCAA tournament and will play Colgate again with the winner advancing to the frozen four.
Nice women’s hockey opportunity for revenge on the Red Raiders!
I was at the first and fourth games of the Yale-Washington baseball series here in Seattle. Made the acquaintance of some parents including RF Jimmy Chatfield’s. All nice folks!
Today four Eli hurlers one-hit the Huskies, with a no-hitter going through 6.. There were high-fives all round after the dramatic last of the 9th — UW had first and second, one out, but first-year RHP Mark Capell struck out the DH and induced a routine fly to right for the 1-0 win.
It has been printed that the schools had never met before, but that is incorrect. The Bulldogs beat the Diamond Dawgs 2-1 at the Kingdome in March 1992.
So how about a updated Football Commit List….? We have 2 what about the rest.

As always RAY, thank you very much.
MORE UPDATES WILL BE COMING!
What has happened to the men’s hockey program? After they won the national championship (2013?), I was sure Yale would draw top recruits, but it seems that every year since they get worse and worse.. Any thoughts?
My guess Yale was afraid of the prospects of becoming a national sports powerhouse in a major sport so they shifted lower Academic Index slots to other sports. A national championship in Crew is one thing, men’s hockey is another.
You realize that essentially a 2 year hiatus to sports. The teams have been turned on their ear. Righttttt.?
Keith Allian will get it together He’s a sma t man.
Here’s a great documentary on the history of Yale football done in 1993. Lots of great video and interviews. Enjoy the trip down memory lane!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njmF9R0NzxU
SOE. I have this on VHS tape somewhere. I had forgotten about it until I opened the link.
I really need to do that Legacy Box thing that is always advertised on the radio. I have a few Yale highlight videos from specific years that you used to be able to get from James Camera in New Haven in addition to games I taped when Yale was on TV over the years. I have no way to play VHS tapes anymore. Time to move into the 21st century.
Thanks for the link.
Please , please get them digitized and upload them to you tube, Do you have the Yale -Navy game by any chance? I would love to watch that again.
I SPENT MUCH TIME LISTING MORE YALE COMMITS, HOWEVER, WHEN I POSTED THE INFO IT DID NOT SEND AND I LOST ALL INFO.. VERY FRUSTRATING!
That is so frustrating, I have tried numerous times. With the same result. I have slowed way down on contributions on this board.
How much would it cost to have an able outsider tasked with running a first rate blog, one that doesn’t eat your submissions. A N H Register reporter?
All we need is a 14 year-old.
