Week 1: Holy Cross

The Bulldogs will travel to Worcester, MA this Saturday for a contest against the Holy Cross Crusaders at 1 PM.  The game can be seen on the Patriot League Network.

Holy Cross is entering the game with an 0-2 record after a close loss to Colgate two weeks ago and a lopsided 62-14 loss to Boston College this past weekend.  The Crusaders have a stout defense that limited Colgate to only 91 rushing yards on the game and 75 yards of total offense in the second half.  Junior QB Emmett Clifford went 20 for 34 with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions in his first two career starts.  Senior WR Blaise Bell is Holy Cross’ most dangerous weapon after amassing 601 receiving yards as a Junior.  Senior LB Ryan Brady was a 2nd Team All-Patriot League selection a year ago and has already racked up 29 tackles with 8 tackles for losses in just two games.

Yale shutout Holy Cross 32-0 in last season’s October contest in the Bowl.

I have not seen one. However the roster has not been updated as to current weights either. It remains the same as last year which is wildly off for some players. It is possible everything will get up dated and a depth chart will come out later in the week. But I have no information on that.

They never update the wghts. Or the Game day programs Depth chart on the roster. Be like that for the whole season.

The easiest job on Yale’s campus. The sports information director. No news, no updates, no nothing.

Every year someone mentions that our opening opponent has had two games under its belt, yet it never seems to make a significant difference. On the other hand, too many opening games reveal a Yale team lacking energy and playing “flat.” Last year was a wonderful exception against Lehigh! May it continue with 146!!

Seniors J. Hunter Roman (DL) and John Lager (TE) not on the two-deep.
All-Ivy Hon.Men. DB Malcolm Dixon second string.

Except for the beginning of the season, when the depth chart can be used to light a fire under the talented but unmotivated, I find the weekly depth charts to be quite reliable.
