Shane Frommer is a 5’11”, 190 lb. linebacker from King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Frommer was a two-time state champion in high school and achieved success on both sides of the football. He will most likely play linebacker or strong safety at the college level utilizing his speed and explosiveness to stifle opposing offenses. Frommer has powerful legs and sound tackling skills as he continues driving his legs after the initial contact. He understands the importance of leverage and always seems to get lower than his opposition on film.

Shane was an excellent RB in a very successful football program! How are decisions made that versatile players go to defense? Speed? I had a similar thought about Thomas Visman (no longer in the roster?) last year.
SHANE IS A VERY GOOD RUNNING BACK, SHOULD STAY ON OFFENSE.WILL NOT GET ENOUGH PLAYING TIME AT LB.SPECIAL TEAMS MAY BE A BETTER FIT FOR HIM . PUNT RETURNS KICK OFF RETURNS WILL BE GOOD FOR HIM. WISH HIM THE BEST.
I guess there is some flexibility as freshman, see how much they develop on the summer lifting program and camps.
I saw a few guys who were listed as DBs last season ended up on gamedays listed as RBs once injuries hit
Visman was a really hard hitter. It’s a shame to lose him. Frommer was a local hero (on offense) who seems somewhat small for LB at the next level. Yes, we’ve experienced shortages in the recent past, but are we overstocking on RBs and under stocking on the beasts?
Looks like there are number of sub 250 DE’s on the roster who could blitz from LB – Frommer more Oluokun than Oplinger
Shane has been working hard in the offseason with EPS in Foxborough. He’s 215 lbs currently. He can do it all – and he is a beast. Trust me – I know.
If you want to see him, come out to the Shriner’s game at Bentley Friday night, June 22nd – 7 pm. All proceeds to charity.
Thanks HWPO; that’s great news. I know that everyone who knows him thinks the world of him. It’s the way people felt and still feel about Dick Jauron.
IF SHANE IS THAT BIG KEEP HIM AT RUNNING BACK. HOW ABOUT THIS ADD A FULLBACK TO THE OFFENSE AND LET HIM GO. LIKE YOU SAID HE WOULD BE A BEAST. COACH CAHILL HAS A LOT OF WEAPONS ON OFFENSE THIS YEAR. I HOPE HE WILL OPEN THE PLAY BOOK ?
All the best to Shane, my his years at Yale be the best to him.
what happened to Vissman….still at Yale and just gave up football or did he leave the school?
