Former 49er, Al Netter, has become the next offensive line coach at Yale. Netter started 52 games at Northwestern before entering the NFL and playing for 3 seasons under Coach Jim Harbaugh. Netter followed Harbaugh to Michigan where he was a Graduate Assistant for the last two seasons. As many have pointed out, Sterling Strother will be given a chance to move to left tackle with Cepalia getting snaps at center.
The Blue White Game is scheduled for April 21st at 1 PM. There will be three additional practices after the Spring Game to allow the players to put the finishing touches on a successful offseason.
Oplinger dominated his Pro Day at Yale measuring 6’2″, 250 lbs, and running a 4.75 40 yard dash. Seven NFL teams were in attendance and several scouts commented on his impressive work in the drills. Foye Oluokun is reportedly drawing early interest from the Falcons, Broncos and 49ers after his eye-opening Pro Day performance.
Yale lacrosse is ranked #6 in the nation coming off a tough overtime loss to Bucknell over the weekend.

Saw this team this morning very excited about this upcoming season. They will be very dangerous. OLine is going to be the biggest I have ever witnessed at Yale.
Jon H, tell me more about the size you are seeing! Muscular or big guts? I think the frosh from Georgia might come in and have a real chance to start!
Would be surprised if any freshman sniffs the field this year. Strother and Eiselen are beasts. Cepalia is a street fighter. Tribble is solid and is one of the top squatters on the team. Lee and Sexton are massive humans and great athletes. It’s possible, but doubtful. This line will be very good.
Both Sexton and Lee are out from injury right now. Stroger. Eislen.Cepalia,Tribble,Warfield getting most 1st team reps. Hearing that Tyler Jost is also looking good. Have a lot depth once Lee and Sexton come back. Don’t think a freshman plays this year especially with them not being allowed on campus for the summer.
Great hire in Netter. I didn’t think Reno could replace Trautwein, but he pulled a rabbit out of his hat again!
How can Sexton and Lee be injured already? Spring Practice has just begun!
New coaches do sound impressive.
Lee acl last spring, being careful with coming back. Sexton had back issue last season and same thing being careful with him coming back. Both should be fine in the fall. Neither was injured this spring.
Some bad news.
We are running out of time for installation of the turf in the Bowl this year. The required permits have not been issued for soil removal and a vote of the local officials approving has not yet occurred. If it all doesn’t get documented by May the window will close. The Yale administration dawdles, bad communication with local officials, and our top tier talent may have to play on dangerous mud again.
