I might put Oplinger at LB, but clearly Manora had more tackles.
WHAT COACH SHOULD BE AWARDED ? ALSO, I HAVE NOT READ OR HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT COACH RENO. ANY NEWS ?
Steve Vashel is a dead man walking. My guess is they’re only keeping him around for recruiting reasons. $100 says after signing day he’s shown the door.
If you suspect that, he must also. How can he recruit effectively?
The defense was deplorable all season – until the last game. I wonder who was calling the shots against Harvard.
Someone has to be held accountable for Yale’s horrendous defensive performance last season. As Oscar Wilde said “it’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you place the blame.”
TYLER JOST OL, 6′ 6″ , 280 LBS. , LIBERTYVILLE H.S., LIBERTYVILLE, IL.
Wow! That’s a big pick-up for Yale. He’s a three star recruit with 10 FBS offers including Syracuse.
And Jost was recruited by Steven Vashel!
Thank you, Ray. Keep the good news coming.
Are we sure we have Michael Purvey? 247 Sports doesn’t list him as a Yale commit.
HE STATED ON HIS TWITTER ACCOUNT THAT HECOMMIED TO YALE ON DEC. 6, 2016
247 SPORTS HAS LISTED MICHAEL PURVEY AS COMMITTED TO YALE AS OF DECEMBER 6, 2016. ALSO, HE WAS PROVIDED WITH 3 ***. RIVALS HAS HIM COMMITTED TO YALE , TOO.
Thanks, Ray!
Depending on whether or not you count the one who got away (to Colgate), we are now 3 (or 6) stars behind last year’s incoming class. Looks promising.
Film on Purvey is very impressive.

I agree that Purvey is a good looking RB. Strake Jesuit is one of two private high schools that participate in the highest level (6A) of Texas high school football. And Strake’s district includes perennial power Katy and a couple other solid programs. So Purvey is no stranger to competition.
ANONYMOUS,
DID THE ” DEFENSIVE END WITH THE IMPRESSIVE OFFER SHEET THAT IS IN THE FOLD ” COMMIT TO UCLA ? OR IS IT SOMEONE ELSE ?
Ray, how about Deonte Henson (DB)? Not a DE, but still a good recruit!
