To the person who said i know nothing about Yale and there offense today you saw a high school offense being played by Yale. They will be lucky if they win two more games. Fire the offense line coach and Cahill the team is going no where with them. Thank God four the defense.

gentlemen; just one man’s opinnion our blue hung in there today despite being handcuffed by poor play calling especially inside the ten yard line and mistakes and penalties. for the life of me i cannot figure out where is the coaching reserve linebacker number 35 had no clue he was supposed to cover the big red halfback out of the backfield resulting in a long touchdown. it appears were are thin at the linebacker position which should encourage the coaches to speed up the development of the underclassmen.

Well, a win is a win as they say. However Yale definitely needs to work on the offense, especially the offensive line. They have now been unable to execute on short yardage situations for the second week in a row. The amount of holding penalties was also concerning. Pass blocking was poor also. Very bad day for the offensive line, which is supposed to be a team strength. If they can’t get this figured out fast they can forget beating Dartmouth and Princeton.

On the plus side kudos to the defense for the 2nd straight superb performance in a row. Special teams was also great and much improved over last week.

It was a good win. Cornell is always tough on Yale, and it was great to see our captain back. However, at this early point in the season, Princeton, Dartmouth and Harvard are well ahead of us.

Great Good or UGLY they gutted this one out Got the job done.
To Wall St Dog. You need to get whacked with a rolled up newspaper on your nose. You need to get a NEW OC Cahill sucks.!!!
As for this AD Vicky Chun you have created a hostile environment. CSC the security company are a bunch of thugs. Chasing down 6 year olds . to show him his ticket.
I’ll watch on ESPN+ for the rest of this season. Get rid of Cahill and CHUN shes no damn good for Yale

Today was the first game in over a decade I skipped. I skipped it just because it didn’t feel like it was worth the bother. The new regime’s “improvements” and Reno’s ongoing incompetence have really soured the game-day experience. Going through TSA-type security to roast in the graveyard of the Bowl while Reno unveils his latest mediocrity is not my idea of a fun Saturday afternoon. Thinking of foregoing the games until Chun and Reno find suitable employment opportunities elsewhere. Maybe the fun will return. Watched the game on the tube, though. The offense seemed sluggish and out-of-sync. Play-calling was frustratingly and inexplicably predictable and unimaginative. Dudek looks unpleasantly ordinary. Only Rawlings plays with any urgency. Defense played well, but it’s hard to tell if that’s them or Cornell One thing is sure, at this stage –they have a long way to go before they are at the Princeton-Dartmouth level. Watched both today. They look almost invincible.

Very creative and appropriate description of #33 – “unpleasantly ordinary.”

I am beginning to think that perhaps a lot of off-season effort went into tailoring the offense to a two-back setup, to put both Dudek and Lamar on the field at the same time. Now, with Lamar mysteriously injured, along with Alston, it feels like that plan has been scrapped in favor of a return to the same-old-same-old.

The lack of a downfield component to the passing game is also disappointing. QB protection has been marginal, but additionally, Rawlings seems to get happy feet very quickly. Thus, pass plays break down early on, creating scrambling situations (with potential for QB injury like last year) and dump-off passes.

Add it all up, and you get an offense that is dramatically under-performing vs. expectations.

From here on in the league teams will destroy Yale even Brown. Not even worth going out to watch Yale anymore they yale have taken out the fun watching yale football. Parking a mess trying to get into the games is a mess the team is a mess.Yale you would think would want people to come to the games instead there keeping people away. In a few years there will be no one in the bowl. Because of there stupid rules.

I actually have made a decision on boycotting any further Yale games until Vicky Chun, is fired or resigns. I feel better already. Good Luck Bulldogs.

For those readers who have not yet attended a game this year I want to give the positives of the new Yale game experience.

The new field looks great, as does the partially completed scoreboard. Once the video screen is installed it will be a very nice upgrade.

The new fan zone is fantastic. If you have young kids or grandchildren bring them. They have a petting zoo, bouncy houses and face painting to name just a few of the attractions. Plus the food at the WPLR tent is much improved. Heard the ribs were delicious.

Once inside the bowl they now have music to entertain the fans over a good sounding P.A . system. They also have many giveaways including tee shirts fired from tee shirt canons and seat cushions handed out by the cheerleaders. . I myself got a nice Yale tee shirt for free. Fans are also invited onto the field after the game and players are very approachable to give autographs to the kids.

I hope to see all of you at the Bowl this Saturday when Yale plays Fordham. Go Yale!

Good for you! The team s undefeated, the turf looks great, and we have much to look forward to in the games ahead. At this point the team looks a little overrated, but give them time.

Son of Eli, thank you for something positive in the blog! I totally agree with you, if fans that have not come out for a game this season I too think they will enjoy the experience! I am.

Part of what’s missing is Rawlings running. I know they want to protect him. But when he does run it opens up options for the offense. As many of you have pointed out, the one running back set allows the defense to key on Dudek. The offense needs a game where they explode. After they do that it will be fine.

What happen to the to running backs in the back field and the to tight ends for blocking in short yardage . Same offense same results. Third an inches could not get that either . What an offense.Line play on offense is terrible better get better before Dartmouth or Yale will be buried .

Go to cornelldailysun.com for their version of the game. It seems Yale didn’t win the game as Cornell lost it.
