May 29th News

It was a heartbreaking weekend for the Men’s Lacrosse squad as they lost the NCAA National Championship on Memorial Day to Virginia in a 13-9 contest. Just two days before the title matchup, the Bulldogs shocked the top-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions 21-17, but simply never seemed to show the same level of energy versus Virginia. Congratulations to Coach Shay on another memorable season!

Yale extended the contract of Men’s Basketball Head Coach James Jones through 2026. The Bulldogs have won more men’s basketball games in the past five years than any other Ivy League team and Jones’ 310 career victories ties him for second place in all-time Ivy League victories.

The Yale Football Association Golf Outing will be held on August 5th at the Course at Yale. The event will be celebrating our former Head Coach and 2-time Ivy League Champion, Jack Siedlecki.

Hero Sports named JP Shohfi the top FCS player who wears the “88” jersey. With the return of a healthy Rawlings, this will be the first of many awards for Shohfi. Will Shohfi or Klubnik lead Yale in receiving yards in 2019?

Thank you for the news roundup. The new turf on the lax field looked great this season. Any updates on the progress of the Bowl’s turfing?

NOW WERE NUMBER THREE IN RECRUITING IN THE LEAGUE. BY NEXT WEEK WE WILL BE NUMBER SIX. PLEASE GIVE US SOME NEWS. WHY NOT TALK ABOUT THE KID FROM AIR FORCE WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HIM. THAT WOULD BE A START. LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR REPORT.

Replying to the gentleman who typed in all caps, Patrick Nauert from the Air Force Academy is a personification of a brick that will reside in the center of the defensive line. Sources say he weighs in 300 and measures at 6’4, with a 405 bench press and a 600 pound squat. No previous injury concerns or character issues, and he isn’t the slowest guy in the world either, running a 4.9 second 40 yard dash in high school. Yale finally has a run stuffing Defensive tackle in this class, and he will make an immediate impact. Him combined with Marcus mauney, who is a project and will likely gain anywhere from 35-45 pounds and the likely transition of backup offensive linemen to shore up the defensive tackle position puts Yale in a good spot on the defensive line as a whole. Look for Jack Twyford out of Florida to possibly make the switch, as he is a fast, tenacious offensive lineman who has some quality defensive film dating back to his junior spring.

The Natives are getting restless..!! Keep it simple and throw your fans a bone.
That’s how you , fan the flames of interest. Your way is death.

Is the DL from Washington (state) missing? I think he was our 2nd highest rated recruit on 247.
