The Hartford Courant posted a fascinating piece on Jacob Van de Grift’s documentary of Carm Cozza. Check out the article here: https://www.courant.com/sports/college/hc-sp-college-yale-carm-cozza-documentary-20190509-20190508-k27omkswcbguvjpebmktpmtpqe-story.html

No Yalies were selected in the 2019 NFL Draft and the Ivy League as a whole was shutout, although several top players such as Princeton’s Jesper Horsted have signed as undrafted free agents. Foye Oluokun continues to impress the league. The Atlanta Falcon’s official website reviewed three rookies from 2018 and Oluokun was referenced as the most impactful of the group as an “intelligent and focused” athlete. What I am picking up from players, parents, observers and coaches is that the Elis are in much better position to contend for the title this year.
We are two deep across the board on offense and there will be intense competition for playing time. Rawlings and Dudek are back to full strength. The coaches will take advantage of the talent at RB this year and field multiple running back sets designed for deception and to get the RBs in the open field.
Coaches are raving about the leadership of the senior class and the overall team attitude. The team is excited to be playing on the new field turf and not mud.
Coaching responsibilities have been shifted on the defensive side to address the problems which were evident last year. There is talent on the defensive side, but the two keys in my mind are the defensive scheme and selecting the talent that fits. This puts the onus on Tony and the defensive coaches. Overall, on the defensive side maturity and increased strength will also help. So will the transfer from the Air Force academy. I understand 80 players will stay in New Haven this summer for workouts.
I’m hoping we get picked third by the pundits, stay healthy and win the Ivy title beating Harvard in front of 60 thousand at the bowl.

EOE,
THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS RE THE FOOTBALL OUTLOOK. IT IS NICE THAT YOU ARE PROVIDING A HOPEFUL EVALUATION. HOPEFULLY, THE EXPECTATIONS BECOME REALITY THIS YEAR.

GUYS . WE OLD TIMERS LIKE THREE YARDS AND A CLOUD OF DUST.I REMEMBER RUDY GREEN TYRELL HENNINGS AND TOM DOYLE AND DICK JAHRON THAT WAS AN OFFENSE. THEY SAY THERE GOING TO GO TO DIFFERENT SETS FOR THE R.B. IHAVE TO SEE IT FIRST TO BELIEVE IT.IF THEY STICK TO THERE WORD WE COULD HAVE THE BEST OFFENSE IN THE LEAGUE. ONE THING DID NOT SEE ANY THING DIFFERENT WHEN THEY WERE PLAYIN THERE GAME AT HILLHOUSE SAM OFFENSE AS ALWAYS. WE CAN ONLY HOPE

Still remember that Flexbone, Tom Doyle would throw a pass down the seam. If Yale would do that . It would be a VERY FORMIDABLE…!!!! OFFENSE..!!

When are this fall’s incomers to be officially announced? Any defections? Any additions?

Coach Reno has a highlight video of all the incoming freshmen he is using on the current road show. I don’t know why the official list has not been published. Only “addition” is transfer from Air Force who should help right away on DL.

Class is very deep on RB, DBs . Hard to project the rest as to impact and position.

ANOTHER GREAT RECRUIT FOR HARVARD LB BROCK L0CNKAR. WHAT IS IT THE WATER IN NEW HAVEN THE CRIME THE SCHOOL THE COACHES PEOPLE WERE BEING OUR RECRUITED BY THE OTHER SCHOOL. WHAT IS GOING ON DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS HAPPING IN NEW HAVEN.

Little info would go along way. Feed your fan base. Because this approach is annoying as Hell.
