Winter Updates

Phil Steele recently posted his All-Ivy selections and here are the Yalies who made the cut:

First Team-Reed Klubnik, Dieter Eiselen

Second Team- Alan Lamar, JP Shohfi, Sterling Strother, Ryan Burke, Hunter Simino

Third Team- J. Hunter Roman

Men’s Basketball is off to a 10-3 start with a 6 game winning streak. They face off against Brown this Saturday in Providence (ESPN+ 3:30 PM EST).

Men’s Hockey is currently sitting at 8-5-3 and they host Clarkson this Friday at the Whale (ESPN+ 7:00 PM EST).

We will continue updating our recruit list as the news of more commitments trickles in. Reno is likely targeting offensive and defensive linemen in this final recruiting push to bolster a talented class.

Really. This list is for 2018, not 2019. It does not mean Simino and Hunter are returning and that is why Zane Dudek is not on this list.

Whats going on with yale recruiting. Another WR where are the lineman.Dartmonth just got two more lineman. No defense lineman for yale.Terrible recruiting what is Reno thinking that WR can play on the line Just stupid recruiting.

Couldn’t agree more, Anonymous. No tight ends, no defensive linemen, and one QB. It’s the lightest most unbalanced group I’ve ever seen. Perhaps we’re planning a yard sale of surplus DBs and WRs. This is really going to cost us.

gentlemen; one can only surmise some offensive linemen currently on the squad are being converted for the next season or there is a new defensive alignment of one down defensive lineman.

Defensive Line is a major concern. The Defensive End who is transferring from Air Force is not on the list so that will help. Also saw the Defensive Line coach is now at McNeese State. Haven’t seen anything on a replacement yet so that cant help with recruiting either.

Ben Olson gone that did not take long Did he see the hand writing on the wall . Not much talent or nothing coming in to help the defense. Smart move by Olson. Going to be a long season for the defense .

DL coaching position has been a carousel under Reno. A new one almost every year. What did Olson seemingly accomplish during his year on the staff? Outwardly, based on results, I’d say not much. Not trying to knock him, he wasn’t the one on the field giving up rushing yards like candy, but from a Yale perspective, the net of this coaching change will depend upon how Reno responds.
Shift Stevens back to DL and find a new LB coach? Probably depends on what the candidate pool looks like.

Stevens never should have been moves. Bad move by Reno. Stevens will be the next to go.Whats next Reno better get his ship in order or where going down.

Can anybody get an update on recent and accurate recruiting developments? Frankly, I can’t decipher the twitter, instagram tidbits out there and what appears to a class that is changing daily…….

Twyford graded at 81 by 247 (from nothing), for whatever 247 ratings are worth. OL looks to have a few good, young players. Developing their talents, however, is the true test of coaching. Let’s hope for the best!
