Filling Mullen’s Role

With Mullen gone for the season, who will step up to take his spot?  Callender will likely be a starter and has already flashed dominance early in his career.  Sean Kissel and Devin Moore were recently named Dogs of the Day after stellar practice performances.  Hunter Roman started against Columbia last season and is a fantastic pass rusher.  Matthaei is still listed on the roster at defensive end and not defensive tackle, so there are viable options for Reno to work with at this stage.  The tougher part for Yale will be replacing Mullen’s leadership skills and building team unity over the next few weeks.

Josh Keeler, Nick Crowle, Julian Fraiser, Daniel James. We have some freshmen Goodyear,Raine,Bruno, Sorry the kid with 53 letters in his name.? LOL

OSO– 6 ‘ 3 ” , 244 LBS. HE LOOKED VERY QUICK ON THE EDGE RUSHING THE QB IN PRACTICES.

When looking at Oso’s tapes I thought he looked extremely impressive wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the field very soon

Can freshmen handle learning the defense and the sophisticated reads
required under pressure and while adjusting to campus life. They usually hit a wall about three weeks into the school year.
That said, this staff has proven they are not afraid to play freshmen. When it is out of necessity the kids have faltered. When it was on merit some have flourished.

I have found that players from California, Texas, Florida and Georgia. Run they’re Football programs like a College . Generally these kids thrive and do very well. Let’s hope that this comes to fruition.

YALE INTRASQUAD TUSSLE TOMORROW AT 1: 30
p. m. ,LIKELY AT THE BOWL. ALSO, THE FIELD IS SOMEWHAT SIMILAR IN ITS APPEARANCE AT THE HARVARD GAME LAST YEAR.

That is disheartening to hear. Is it really that bad? It looked in pretty good condition in recent Twitter pictures.

It is absolutely a disgrace that a facilities guy can’t be brought in who knows how to grow grass. Same folks couldn’t get it together to get the turf put in over the summer.
That said, it gets practiced on too much.
The right thing to do would be put new sod in for final season and stay off it except Fridays.
27M endowment, but football and other sports supposed to be self sufficient.

Not able to attend today’s scrimmage due to prior commitment. I was wondering about the O Line and D Line in particular.

Also cannot attend today’s scrimmage and would love to hear from anyone who does on how the team is doing.
I truly hope that coach Reno‘s comments in regards to the camaraderie on this team are an indication of our defense of the ivy league title. My two cents from discussions I’ve had with these young gentleman is it true they are a complete team ready to defend with a complete Ivy League take over

It is hard for me to believe that anybody associated with Yale football wants to see the last season of grass in the Yale Bowl be played on turf looking like a dog run. Honestly, the RV parking lots at Penn State look 10 times better than the playing surface of the Bowl. It is more than the fact that they know how to grow grass at State College, or anywhere else for that matter. Facilities management is assigned responsibility and then held accountable.
The condition of the Yale Bowl turf hurts the performance of our skilled players, is a detriment to recruiting, and is an embarrassment to the players, parents and alumni.
The request for donations is a constant drumbeat, but don’t dare ask questions ………
