Camp Updates

Bo Hines has decided to hang up the cleats and issued a statement that his decision was based on medical reasons.  We would have loved to see Bo this year, but luckily the WR corps is one of our deepest units.  The Blue-White scrimmage took place on Saturday and gave us a good opportunity to evaluate the returning talent and rookies.  The runningbacks are a versatile group with Lamar, Salter, and newcomers such as Dudek all adding different running styles to keep the defense off balance.  The offensive line is getting better by the day and we keep hearing about the great performances in camp by Marback, Strother and Bezney.  The coaches have been thrilled with Rawlings’ development thus far.  On the defensive front, Fraser flashed in early practices and Daniel James made a few nice plays in the scrimmage.  It will be interesting to see who earns the starting spots at defensive tackle with Tyler, Fraser, Crowle, James and others battling it out.  Oplinger and Rymiszewski have been the heart and soul of the defense so far this preseason.

The Bulldogs open the season on September 16th at Lehigh.

Good news! Is Dudek only 5’7″ ( per roster)? Films show him to be a dynamic RB! Any injuries noted?

I believe the entire roster is incorrect. Returning players are measured 1-2 inches shorter than previously. So either all the players were lying about height or someone messed up the roster.

My kid shrunk an inch from 6’3″ to 6’2″…..if it was BS he would’ve been listed at 6’4″ which he is closer to than 6’2″
I liked last years picture (suit) vs this year. When I saw Fy next to the grade (vs Fr) I thought it was a typo, I guess that is a “micro-aggression” as I was informed Fr. is sexist and Fy= first year. I’m OK with it in another time, but this piling on is ridiculous, after all they are FreshMAN (no women playing football)

The coaches know the players exact height and weight. Why they chose to create fictitious sizes is unknown. The roster is incorrect on most players.

Don’t over use him. Salter and Lamar are good and need to get their carries. You are right in that he is not mature enough physically to be an very down over powering back like Varga.

Grinde is doing very well. As others are saying Dudek is really good !!!
Thankfully the running back position is very deep.

I’ve heard a lot about Dudek. Purvey was also highly recruited. Looks like Yale has four strong options at RB until Lamar returns. It’s good to see that Yale finally has depth at this position, unlike other years when the had to turn to their cornerback Harris and WR Reuland to play the position when a couple of starter got hurt.

Acob write a report on the Voy Ivy League Sports Forum. Yale won in a close game and Dudek apparently was the star.

Week 1 prediction

Lehigh gave up over 500 yards to Monmouth yesterday. They can’t stop the run. Look for Salter to shred their DL the same way he did in 2015. Lehigh has some great receivers, but Yale’s improved secondary should hold them in check.

Yale- 28
Lehigh- 21
