Almost unendurably tense. No hankies emerged until Rawlings took a knee. Great coaching and inspired play. I can’t wait to watch Team 145.
Now we need Ray to find out how we’re doing the recruiting front. This afternoon will help.

Will neeed help in the secondary next year. Maybe there is a good transfer out there? Reno definitely stays after today.

I hope this will quiet the Reno bashers on this website. Tony is giving the program everything, and, from where I sit, I have never seen a coach who backs up his players to the degree that Tony does, both on the field and in his public statements. I could not be happier for him with today’s game.

Yogi, seriously?
“backs up his players in public statements?”
Every loss is blamed on execution, not scheme. Essentially, throwing those very players under the bus.
Reno has never made a mistake, if you listen to him. Rather arrogant and insensitive, IMO.
His teams always play up for Harvard on the road (but not so much at home), and this weekend’s win was a great moment for the program.
But if he is, as you say, “giving the program everything,” and all we have to show for it is 3-7 (tied for worst overall record in the league), then something is wrong.

So, no, I guess some of us Reno bashers are not quieted. 😉
Perhaps he’s not fired, but he should be on double-secret probation.

When I saw the list of seniors receiving awards at the Team Banquet, I thought what an impressive group of talented football players, but then I thought what a shame so many of them ended up playing so few games. It’s not enough that Yale has so many injuries each season, it’s that so many injuries put players out for so many games or are season ending. This is where I see Yale as differing from other Ivies. Why? Or am I just imagining this.

You are not. There is a problem in strength and conditioning and a shortage of trainers. Why this hasn’t been remedied yet I don’t know. But the results are obvious.

Should be a good defensive backfield next year. Glad to see Spence is back.
On a another note Yale really needs to dig in as to why all the injuries and dropouts (from football)
We should be winning ivy titles with the talented players on the team. I would love to hear from the players re Reno and if they believe in him or not. I could care less about dissatisfied parents
