Bulldogs Drop Home Opener to Colgate 55-13

I thought this off season we were supposed to have guys put on muscle and be healthy? We didn’t have Spencer Rym, Bo Hines, or Foye Oluokun today due to injury and everyone looked like they were moving in quicksand. This will be a long year if things don’t change.
Yale looks fat, slow, and lathargic. Our offense is soft and sporadic. Our defense is already hurt and we are starting a freshman and sophomore at corner. It is inexcusible what we saw today. How do kids come in to Yale as the most talented in the Ivy League and then look worse when they graduate?

I would have to get into the record book to be sure, but yesterday’s game at Yale Bowl may have set one or even two unenviable records: most points surrendered by a Yale team playing at home; and largest margin of defeat by a Yale team playing at home.

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF DANIEL JAMES ? IS HE HURT ? ALSO, WHY WASN’T FOYE OLUOKUN SUITED FOR THE GAME ? HE WAS STANDING ON THE SIDELINE .

I’ve now checked the record book, and the 55 points surrendered to Colgate matches the 55 points that Brown racked up in beating Yale, 55-44, at the Bowl in 2003. The Bulldogs have surrendered more than 55 points a couple times on the road, but never more than 55 playing at home. And the 42-point margin of defeat is the largest in any game played in New Haven in Yale’s 144-year football history, surpassing 41-point losses to Army in ’54 and to UConn back in the ’80s.

Colgate is good but not that good! They were clobbered by Syracus, which was beaten badly by South Florida. Yale coaches said Colgate had two weeks to get ready for Yale, but what were THEY doing during those two weeks?? Team was totally unprepared, with the same old problems – hapless OL hence no running game, porous defense, especially against passing, unable to score touchdowns in the red zone and terrible on third down conversions
