That was a Barnum and Bailey event.!! A win is a win, this team is peaking just at the right time. Enjoy it.!! Congratulations..!!
Onto Princeton.!! Beat those Tigers

Is it me or do these sportscasters sound like a bunch of homer’s.? Ron Viccaro and Jack Seidlecki just head and shoulders better than these other clowns.
Unbiased, no nonsense sportscasters professionals.
Also why , why did Yale get rid of WELI Radio.? Why.!!!

I actually sent WELI an email. Their short reply was that Yale is not doing radio this year.

No other explanation.

I always enjoyed listening to the Yale broadcasters, while watching the games on TV or ESPN+

Which must mean Yale bares the cost of production of these broadcasts. I suppose Yale could save production costs by just simulcasting the ESPN coverage on WELI. But that just begs the question: why not just listen to the broadcast over your phone using the ESPN app?

Using your phone to listen to broadcasts eliminates the Yale broadcast team for half the games. Plus, I think that there is a certain connection to the community with games on the radio. I grew up with Yale games on WICC as well as WELI and it was my first real connection to Yale as my father always had the games on.

Maybe I’m old fashioned and kids today connect to their phones like I connected to the radio. I just think it would be well worth a modest investment for Yale to keep all their games easily accessible.

P.S. Am I the only person in the country that still goes for walks clutching his transistor radio?

Yale had the better announcing team on radio in 2019 compared to ESPN, reaching I assume to be a far smaller audience. I also assume the savings from ending radio was more than any salary increase Vaccarro and Sidliecki received from moving from radio to TV. Therefore cancelling radio and moving Vaccaro and Sidliecki to the TV broadcasts improved the broadcast quality for the largest audience while also reducing the overall media costs. Makes sense to me.

Simulcast Yale’s home games on ESPN+ and WELI and let Vacarro and Jack do the away games on radio only.

Call it a community service

Yes , I’m lost when I’m driving home from work. I can’t listen to what is happening.
Please bring back WELI and Yale Football.!! PLEASE.!!

Another entertaining win by the Bulldogs where prolific scoring in the second half made the difference.
Some thoughts: Grooms continues to display All-Ivy talent; Offensive Line getting better in very game; finally got to briefly see the highly touted rb Josh Mckenzie and he looks really good; as does David Pantelis who looks like he can be another “game changer;”
Final observation: E.J. Perry deserves to be an All American selection.

Amen, Remember It Well, to those you touted. Today was won on Big Plays galore. Obviously our D gives up much but they did score two TD’s today. Seems to be the Reno Way.
If we can make more big plays than P-H… well, a week ago I still thought we had zero shot vs. Tigers. Now, who the heck knows? I’m very happy we’re in this thing.
We will have to run the board — very unlikely Big Green will lose again. That said, GO BLUE!!!!!!!
BTW, speaking of unwelcome new developments — the Oldest College Daily has been referring to us as “the Blue and White.” Now obvs our color besides blue IS white, but goddamnit no one says “Blue and White.” Saying “Go Blue” is cool, we’re the Elis, Bulldogs, Blue… but NOT “blue and white.” Damn kids!

That goes along with the disappearance of the marching ELI at halftime. Isn’t there anyone holding on to the old traditions?

Not enough band members to form ELI. Suggestion: invite local H.S. bands to join the Yale band for the home games.

I was there. It was a beautiful day in Providence, though not if you like defense. The game was actually very even, but the ultimate difference was that Brown’s “All World” QB turned it over three times. Stats very close – Yale 527 yards, Brown 507.

Hopefully Bulldogs will put up a better defensive effort over the next two weeks. They definitely have it on offense. On to NJ,, beat those weenies….

Yesterday was the first time all season that Yale had the same 5 Offensive linemen starting in back-to-back games. The OL responded big time with their best performance of the year.

Here’s to them getting better each and every day.. very pleased by the running by committee. Grooms, is a smooth operator.!!
All in all a good job by all. I was surprised that Brown was able to move the ball so easily on the D line. Gotta tighten up against P and H

Defense allowing an average of 32 pts per game over the past 3 weeks, against marginal opposition (except Columbia).
Won’t be winning any share of the title if that continues.

I was looking back to see how other Yale teams that started 2-3 finished in a 10 game schedule. I went back to all if the season which played a 10 game schedule. No Yale team has ever been able to finish the season 5-0 after starting 2-3. The best that was accomplished is 4-1 by both the 1990 and 1998 teams. Interestingly both of this teams had losses to UConn, Dartmouth and a Patriot league team in the first half of their seasons.

The good news is I feel Team 148 is much better than either the 1990 or 1998 teams so I’m hopeful they can accomplish what no other Yale team has done before. Go Team 148!

Good looking out SOE, here is To Yale completing the task.!! Beat the Tigers.!!
GO BULLDOGS.!!

Here’s the chance for Team 148 to make history by doing something no Yale team has ever done. That’s a rare opportunity with a team with a history as rich as Yale’s.

The real test for the offense line is the next to weekends these games will tellwhat type of line we will have next year Remember Princeton and Harvard defense lines are not Browns and Columbia not even close. If we can hold our own the next two weekend with these teams and win two next year we may win it all, A lot of good players coming back next year One last thing no pooch kicks against these teams you will pay the price if you do . Go Blue.

UMass and UConn will be reaching out to Tony Reno, to lead they’re teams respectively. After the season is over. You do well schools want you.

Accolades to Nolan Grooms after earning his second Ivy Offensive Player of the Week award.
Hope the coaching staff now realizes that rotating quarterbacks rarely works for colleges or pros.

3rd week in a row 2 Yale players for Ivy honors. Mr. Nolan Grooms Offensive Player of the week. Mr. David Pantelis for special teams player of the week.
This team is doing better and better each week. Keep up gentlemen. Keep it up.

I was just thinking how things may have worked out. If Reno, would have put in Grooms from Day 1. Possibly Yale would going into this weekend at 8-0.?
This is such a young team , majority is coming back. Here is to going all the way with great results and bringing a championship back to New Haven.!!
Go Bulldogs.!!!

Why does everyone on this board constantly b*tch and moan about coaching decisions and the Yale administration. Blaming Reno for not starting Grooms earlier now. Really something else. They are in the verge of sharing and Ivy championship for 3 of the last 4 seasons. I thing the coaching staff deserves some credit for that as well as the great players. Just enjoy the freaking ride……

Although Princeton and Harvard look like their each significantly better than Yale, like Dartmouth, they each lost a game to a supposedly inferior team. It is hard to believe that Yale is now tied for first place going into the Princeton game. Who knew?

Rory, take some more steroids.? A Rory says what.? Oh Rory that’s a question Mark at the end. Buy a vowel and get a clue. Idiot.!!

What does playing a sport , have to do with anything Rory. Yale’s Football Fan base and support is waning genius.?
Do you people have any common sense. My Grandfather used to say , “The smarter people are the dumber they get “. Meaning you lose your common sense. If your going to persecute people for beingi passionate about Yale football.? You can all go to Hell. You need the small people, you need the towns and the counties. To come in and support these young men. So Rory shove it up your huge arse.!!
When was the last time you played Hennessy 2004. The game has evolved. Doesn’t sound like you have . Pat Ruwe , shame on you for letting this happen on your watch. Bunch of old hens that do nothing.!!

What a Punk. High level .? Really step above D2 . Yale Football hasn’t been relevant since 1981. Period.!!
Up until 2017 it’s coming back. But Yale doesn’t even have a clue on how to market itself. 2,000 people if they’re lucky., in those stands..?
No radio , for the old timers to listen to the games. To bad . Once you come in you can never leave, .welcome to the Hotel Yalefornia.
Yale , used to be extremely accommodating now it’s not . Better change it for next year. Yale could be looking at a new parking lot . Where Football used to be . In a decade or so.? Better listen

Bring in the mounted units 4 to 8 horses should do it. What ya think attendance will be. 45,000 on a nice day.
