No Way was there 4,437 in attendance at today’s game.!! Maybe 500 to 700 tops. Come on Vicky, stop the insanity. Or lying

Bulldog10JW , you know , your absolutely correct. I remember those crowds, back in the day. It breaks my heart.
I expect to see Yale , attain that status again. But will never happen in my lifetime.

What was Reno doing with those short kick offs give the game to Columbia he almost did. Stupid that play will bite him in the ass some day. Why give the other team a chance to beat you on a shorted field. Someone tell me why he does this please ? He
better not try this against Princeton or Harvard or the game will be over quickly.

I don’t love the pooch kick either. However, Kick off return coverage hasn’t been great this year. Columbias returner is dangerous. Maybe a better option is to just kick it out of bounds and have the ball predictably at the 35

Boy, I have to agree. 35 yard line would have been much better than the majority of the time with the pooches. Given the offensive stat differences between the teams and yet the close score, Columbia made it a game via Yale’s 3 turnovers and the pooch kicks. They had field position much of the game.

They have the talent to kick the ball . Past the end zone. Start at the 25.? Made no sense at all. Jack Siedlecki was beside himself on this matter.
Congratulations on a great job. I did see Oso #9 dressed and walking on the sideline. So hopefully in a week or 2 he’ll be ready. As far as Mr.Gargiulo still in a boot. Rouse concussion precautions.

agree with all of the above. Reno’s insistence on giving the other team good field positioning is maddening. Over and over, he butts the same stone wall. kick it in the end zone. guy is not accurate but seems to have a strong leg.

Bad day for football weather was terrible a lot of no shows today blame the weather no. 4,437 showed up for the game get real where were all the people in the press box . The football players want people to cheer for them when they are playing what you saw today you will see for the rest of the year. and the years to come. You can blame VICKY CHUN for this and her stupid rules you herd this before and you will here this again no one wants to go to the games any more. Shame on you Vicky Chum you have hurt yale sports . Good luck with basketball the same will happen there to no one will come. The seniors me to who went to almost every game for the last 50 years are done the hell with your rules this is not the big ten .

A terrific win for Yale against a very talented Columbia team. The Bulldog offense is much improved with Nolan Grooms at qb so there’s reason to be optimistic for the last three games of the season; especially if Messers Rouse, Tipton, Carrington and Alston continue to display their impressive skills. At this point it’s the kicking game that could limit Yale’s success.

Today was the best Yale’s offensive line have played all season. Momentum is building. Beat Brown and it’s like Yale makes the final four. Three wins away from an Ivy Championship. Got to take care of business against Brown first. Go Yale!

From the New Haven Register article on the game:

“Melvin Rouse, who had made a couple of big catches and ran a punt back for an 86-yard touchdown in the first half, was injured as he muffed a punt to open the second half. (Rouse remained down awhile, but he got up under his own power, and Reno said the training staff told him Rouse is OK.)”

gentlemen; a solid performance by our blue squad against the improved lions .i have to say it is a real head scratcher this so called pooch kickoff which indeed gave the lions superior field position throughout the game. my humble suggestion to the special teams coach use the kicker who kicks the farthest down the sideline.

Old Blue, your words to God’s ears. I totally agree. These cardiac kids are making this season very enjoyable now.
Hopefully the brain trust won’t screw it up. Pooch kick .?!!! Do what Old Blue says and kick out of the end zone.!!
Go Bulldogs.!!

I was hoping to give that a rest actually.. Any how , I never realized how tactless and immature Columbia fans are.
Must be tough to perpetually suck , year after year after year…
Be so clueless on all levels. ? Any how have a great start to your week ahead.
See ya in Providence ? Go Bulldogs

Let’s just be grateful that after a poor start we have a lot to look forward to at the end of the season.

Yale will beat Brown, Princeton, and Harvard.

The final score was made much closer due to 2 special teams errors giving Columbia possession in the red zone and getting 10 easy points. Strong work from the offense overcoming that deficit. Just cleaning up those errors should make for an easier time going forward.

What is the time for the Brown kickoff? Our website says noon; my tickets do not concur. They say 12:30.

Has anyone else noticed, and I could be late to the party, that you can access the game programs on the athletics website?

Do they still sell them on game day?

Yes I noticed that and yes they still sell them on game day. Still only $1. At least something is immune from inflation.

Congratulations to Spencer Alston, receiving the Gold Helmet Award . For his performance against Columbia .
Go Bulldogs!!! Got dem Bears..!!

What’s wrong with Dudek? I would hate to see his career end prematurely due to injury.

Abilene Christian has open dates that correspond with Yale’s mid-October out-of-conference date from 2023 onward (as of now, for what’s been released publicly).
UConn also has that weekend open in ’23 and ’24; I’d prefer to see Yale and UConn do a home-and-home in those two years, but ACU is a decent choice for a road trip.
Other southern opponents I’d like to see, from a competition and academic acceptability standpoint:
Samford
Furman
And I think there could be benefits derived from scheduling either of the Bayou Classic participants, Southern U. or Grambling. For one, a intersectional road trip (recruiting). Also, if done as a home-and-home, the ability to promote an entertaining appearance at the Bowl by the visitors’ famous marching band (think: Morgan State in 1984). Lastly, the goodwill generated by embracing competition with a well-respected HBCU school.

JH it would be a shame if they couldn’t get it together. They stopped it because they didn’t have enough depth. What’s the excuse now.?

Scheduling an HBCU next year is a wonderful idea – for political recruiting, and attendance reasons.

Great idea Voy Vey.
