WHAT HAPPENED TO JOSEPH NASH ? HE COMMITTED TO YALE . DIID YALE LOSES ANOTHER RECRUIT ? IF SO, THEN THIS IS VERY DIS APPOINTING !

Jake Biggs is a transfer from the Utah Utes. Ruben Valenzuela, is decommit from Columbia. Nice pickups on both.

JOSEPH NASH IS GOING TO PREP SCHOOL IN CT. I DO NOT KNOW WHICH ONE.
THANKX FOR RESPONDING.

I would guess Choate, where many of our recruits go to strenghthen their academic credentials.

Heavy Mass/Conn concentration – about 40% of the class.

6 DB
0 LB
5 DL

5 OL
3 WR
2 TE
1 RB
1 QB

A few recruits have caught my eye one is jake biggs this young man should be a running back. He does not have great speed but he tough has nails. he would make a very good running back. Has good size 6-1 -205

Played QB in HS. Walked on as a safety at Utah. Looks like a good athlete that could contribute at multiple positions.

WALT -WHERE DID YOU VIEW JAKE BIGGS RUNNING STYLE ? I WAS UNABLE TO SEE IT. THANKX

Love the way Biggs plays. Passion and ferocity combined with speed and athleticism. Get the ball to him!

For crying out loud.!! Can the people in charge. Update the 2021 football schedule, as well as the the Roster.?!!

What a difference Roar Lion Jake Novak’s blog. BGA Bruce Woods info flowing interesting articles..
What do we have .? Crickets..!! Please expectations should be SO MUCH HIGHER AND BETTER. Yale looks like a joke and after thought . Yale has no respect for what it had. Yes past tense.
To bad no passion no interest

I had no idea about Mr. Finkle. Again Thank you very much . Apparently neither did the monitor… ? Greatly appreciate that SOE.

95 more days till Yale kicks off against Holy Cross. No updated Schedule, No updated roster, I didn’t know of Ben Finkle.? It’s great to have a baseless blog.!!
That you have to rely on SOE , RAY and some others. But thank you to them.

AUSTIN TUTAS QB:; 6 ‘ 1 ” . 205 LBS. TRANSFERRED TO FOSTER H.S., RICHMOND, TX. ON AUG. 13, 2020. . HE DID NOT PLAY FOR FOSTER H,S, IN 2020. WHY ??

Tutas was on the roster. The team had a record breaking Sr. QB by the name of Philip Amy who had some incredible stats.

Not a wise move by Mr. Tutas moving from a respected starter in Maryland to a bench warmer in Texas.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Probably wanted to play some more. His school in Maryland wasn’t participating in any games.
I don’t see , how it was a problem.? He did drills he did practice. Get him ready for 2021 college season.
Possibly to see if any other schools would take notice of him. Hopefully Yale won’t lose him as well.

It appears that Mercer had to make schedule adjustments to retain their game against Alabama.
The Mercer/’Bama game was originally scheduled in November, and got moved (for Alabama reasons, no doubt) to September, causing the shifting of a Mercer in-conference game vs. Samford to 10/2, thus scrapping the Yale/Mercer game.

This under Ms. Chuns watch. Still can’t believe she gotta 5 year extension.? She will be the death of Yale sports.
Twist the knife a little more please.!!!

Why is Tony so reluctant to give out information? Is he afraid our opponents will find out who are players are? Or worse what other teams we are playing?

Great news of the crew looking to compete for the Olympics!

It is extremely frustrating, not being allowed to see or talk to the coaches , players and trainers. To see them grow and develop as a team.
Also to get to know about them. Coaches also how they’re doing and their families.
It’s Coach Reno’s team. You can’t argue about the recent results.
But to me it has created a divide. Us and them mentality. While a select few are allowed to witness the team at practice. At the revamped facility. I don’t feel like this is the Yale Bowl of my youth. Nor bringing new people to the fold.
It used to be free parking to watch a game. It used to be , you could bring in your own food and drinks. Children 12 and under were free. If I was in this era, I and my children would not be able to witness the special events that took place. Yale then was a extremely welcoming to the people of New Haven, Fairfield and Middlesex counties.
Non associated, non alumni . You go back the Yale Bowl was not filled by employees, alumni and students. Who was it filled by you ask the surrounding communities THATS WHO.!!! You want to have the Bowl filled cater to the general public, get the pop Warner teams in , The VFW, American Legion, yes the churches. Let a little boy or girl develop dreams of playing and participating at the Yale Bowl.. During a game . It’s to darn rushed ,expensive and not inclusive now.
Heck you forget something you can’t leave without paying for a another ticket. What’s that .? Vicky Chun.!!! What is that (SAD) you have no idea what you took away from the culture of Yale football.
Thank You to the true Yale Athletic Directors before you. Robert Kiphuth a gentleman Frank Ryan and the venerable Tom Beckett. Always took the time to talk to me . Now those were men who had a clue . Unlike someone who slithered into that position currently.

My introduction to Yale football and the Bowl was through the Jaycees who would round up the kids in the neighborhood and take us to a game. My first was in 1959 against Brown.

BULLDOG10JW, Those were the days my friend . My father, was and avid Yale Football fan. My brothers and sisters ,would go to every home game. He would order a dozen pastrami on hard rolls with mustard and coleslaw. From Foxes deli it was the best sandwich. I was always to excited to eat. Right about halftime. I was ready for my sandwich. As I got older I could eat 2.
I gave one to Tyrell Hennings after a game one time. He became a family friend soon after. Hope your doing well Tyrell.
But these are the warm feelings , that I have from the late 60’s to the early 80’s. Then again when my children started going. Now I have a 7 year old grandson to bring him.
I’m not sure if I want to go anymore.? At least not every Saturday home game. $10 to park. $20 for tickets. $6.00 for a crappy $4.50 for a water down coke. hotdog. $10 . for a trinket . It’s just to much

Maybe the athletic department feels that releasing a list of 10 “opponents” is a microaggression.

Alternatively, perhaps they don’t want to give the Divest crowd any advance warning of game dates and times, in an effort to prevent them from planning their next sit-in.

😉

JOHN,

KUDOS JOHN ! IT IS MY FEELING THAT THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH YALE FOOTBALL TREAT US VERY LOYAL AND LIFE LONG FANS AS FLY- OVER PEOPLE. YFA WILL NOT BE GETTING MY ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF $ 1K THIS YEAR.

Ray, in this era of acceptance and political correctness and tolerance. Yale has actually turned its back on us. It’s not inclusive, it has corporate greed.
Yale Football has the wrong and the worst leadership in Vicky Chun. Who has destroyed the football culture in only a few years. She has ruined it for generations. She needs to go .
We need a Kingman Brewster type of Prexy not a Peter Salovey, He is a nice guy , but Vicky Chun is just plain wrong for Yale. If it ain’t broke don’t fix. Well she F’d it up Royal.!!! Go back to Colgate you loser. !!!

I apologize for calling Vicky Chun a loser, far from it. I would hope she would reach out and consul with her peers. Before she acted on many of the changes that she has instituted as of late.

Gentlemen; Mr. Salovey is head and shoulders better than the egghead Mr. Levin.

Without a doubt. But nobody was better than Kingman Brewster. I’m not a big fan of Vicky either.

Gentlemen; To the best of my memory Mr. Griswold as president appointed Mr. Kiputh as the athletic director splendid choice..

Heading into July, it’s a total snooze , Like Bill Murray in Ground Hog Day. No updated 2021 schedule, No news on player development or attrition of players , nor any transfers. Great job, you all must be enjoying your vacation.
5 year extension for what.?!! Lowered expectations.?!!

The football schedule has just been. released (finally). Probably the last division one program in the country to do so.

Nice going, Ray.
See if you can find out what became of Gargiulo, Holwland, and Warfield, all eligible to return and all potentially all-Ivy?

Many thanks, Not Ray:
It’s reassuring to know the entire OL will not have to be rebuilt. Do you have any notion when the website’s roster will be updated?

That’s a huge relief because none is on the current iteration of the website’s roster..

Thank Goodness for ESPN+ Plus

Ok, here’s a valid question.? How do you feel Yale , will fare. I feel Yale has a lot of talent. Who will pull the trigger at QB.?
Whose the OL, DL CB’s Linebackers.?
I’m not worried about RB’s or WR’s.

Thanks to SOE, Yale is getting a Transfer from Notre Dame. WR Brunelle. 6’1 “ 200lbs
Thank you Son Of Eli

For the record, if for nothing else, Brunelle’s 247 Sports rating of 8627 is second only to Jon Bezney’s 8649 among Yale recruits.

I have seen the 2021 schedules for Milford Academy and Bridgton Academy. Yale JV is not on either. Surprisingly, Bridgton opens at University of New Haven JV!

I always thought that the Yale/Harvard Jv on the Friday of the Game weekend was a big deal. When was the last year of the JV game? Was it four years ago at Harvard? Didn’t Harvard Jv trash Yale but we won the the big upset at Harvard, the last time the “GAME” was played in Harvard stadium?!?!

I 2nd that sentiment. I know Yale stopped playing because of the numbers. Were low. But that’s not the case anymore.. You really need to have these kids on the field. In one way or the other. Give them game time. Play against the other Ivy members. On a Sunday. Bring back The Yale Harvard JV on a Friday afternoon.!!! Dag Nabbit

Yale will have 6 QBs, to compete for the starting job. I’m thinking Grooms and O’Conner for the main competition.
But the unknown is the fun one.?
Yale’s offensive line Cam Warfield, Mr. Gargilio sorry about the spelling. De St John Tyler Jost I have no idea at center.?
Yale has a lot of talent, be interesting to see the coaches . Unleash the beasts and sooner than later.

I just the Hudl video on QB Ben Finkle great foot work, nice arm , protects the when he takes off . Mobility is good. Big Body at 6’3’ 215 lbs.
I could see him in the mix as well

Since Gavin O’Conner’s photo adorns the official ’21 schedule with the athletic website’s press release with the official ’21 schedule I assume he’s a strong favorite at QB — that plus his varsity experience.

CORRECTION: Since Gavin O’Conner’s photo adorns the athletic website’s press release of the official ’21 schedule I assume he’s a strong favorite at QB — that plus his varsity experience.

Possibly, but Grooms and Finkle are valid candidates as is are the others. Options are good. Here’s to Yale Football for 2021

Stumbled upon this one on 247.

65 more days till kickoff with Holy Cross.!! Can’t wait to see a game. Have to go see UConn game Holy Cross

Good recall, Yale OL. 2016 was the last JV game. Harvard’s JV’s won, 68-0. Yale won The Game the next day.
No JV games have been played since.

68-0?! Gosh, that beats whatever the most lopsided varsity game was, perhaps our 51-7 (or so) whupping of ’55 wherein Ted Kennedy scored their only TD.
I recently read that Ted also once smoked a joint with San Francisco’s legendary rock band The Flamin’ Groovies.

The ’55 game was a 21-7 Yale victory in the snow. The JV program was terrible – I got so tired off seeing them losing EVERY YEAR to Brown and Harvard.

I really enjoyed seeing those games along with the freshman games. I miss those days. It was a fun time to be around.
Now not so much. Parking is going up. No readmission to go to your car. Food is horrible. For what they offer.

In my day (Class of ’57) Yale had not only freshman, JV and varsity teams but also each of the ten residential colleges had a football team. I played for Saybrook as the starting center (nobody else wanted the job) and at the end of the season we played our sister House at Harvard, Adams House.

Their creepy and their kooky
Mysterious and spooky..Their all together ooky .
Harvard Sucks..!!

Here it is July 16th , I’m still looking at a heading from 5/25/21. 81 days of nothing. The f it weren’t for the true fans of this team. It would be DEAD.!!
So thank you, to all that contribute to this blog. To try and make this better.
Go Bulldogs.!!!

Commit news
Christopher Brooks 3 star WR 6’3” 210lbs from St. Louis, Mo. Had offers from MAC Schools and Columbia, Penn, Brown
Nice position type of receiver

Ivy wanna be , gave a nice response to a snotty comment from Holtsludge. A Dartmouth fan. Most likely it will be deleted.
On Yale’s transfer and commit list

Sunday Fact: Gray rainy Sunday, blessed to have a job. Picked up and extra shift at the hospital. Make that money.
Reading some of the post on the ILSBVF, never realized how askew. Some of those posters are.
They are very disrespectful of Reno, so I looked up the 1st 8 years. Which Reno has completed. Compared to Teevens 26 wins 54 losses Surace 38wins 42 losses.Reno is 47 wins 33 losses. With 2 Ivy championships. Better record in a shorter timeframe. Go Bulldogs.!! The Hell with all the rest.

Great post JH. Couldn’t agree more. Teevens, Surace and Reno are all great coaches, but Reno hasn’t gotten the respect he’s due on the sports boards. You are what your record says you are.

Maybe Dartmouth fans are green with envy with Reno’s success. The best way to shut their mouths is to beat Dartmouth this year, win another Ivy title, and beat our 2nd FBS opponent in a row.

Just for full accuracy, Teevens is in his 2nd run as Dartmouth head coach. If you include his first run from 1987-91 his record in his first 8 seasons was 33-47, the inverse of Reno’s. They both have two Ivy Championships in their first 8 seasons, as does Surace.

Thanks SOE, nothing more I’d like to see than Yale go and beat D’Mouth. Soundly at that. Seems they’ve had Yale’s number.
Everything goes in cycles, hopefully Yale’s is on the upswing.
Go Bulldogs.!!

The Dartmouth series has been one of streaks the last 25 years or so. In the 90’s Dartmouth won 9 straight. Later, Yale won 9 straight. Now Dartmouth has won 7 of 8. We need to turn it around.

Dartmouth is Public enemy #1 Princeton is Public enemy #2 Harvard is Public enemy #3 Penn is public enemy #4 Brown is Public enemy #5 Cornell is public enemy #6 Columbia is Columbia

Gentlemen; coach Reno was one step from the pink slip but for the valiant effort of the 2016 squad besting the cantab team. The last three years has benefited by the effort of the offensive and defensive coordinators and dynamic trio the likes of which may not be seen for a long time.

Didn’t Reno recruit the dynamic trio? And I wouldn’t give the defensive coordinator that much credit. Except for 2017, the defense hasn’t been great.

What made the dynamic trio dynamic was the best gang of offensive linemen we’ve had since my first trip to the Bowl in November, 1945. Defense has been spotty of late. We’ll really need it this year..

Gentlemen; upon further reflection I must profess to being a tad bit overzealous in my commentary about our blue defense. Spotty may indeed be a more appropriate description over the past three years especially in view of the Indian drubbings and breakdown late in the fourth quarter of the 2017 contest. Yet, the tackle on the last play of the most recent cantab contest was one for the ages. I do agree the offensive line has been sterling and am encouraged with the return of the two starting tackles. For my money the 1960 squad line was the best since 1945.

Agreed. The last tackle of the 2019 season was magnificent, but before that stop, the relatively unknown (that probably contributed to his effectiveness) Borguet repeatedly shredded us.

Gentlemen; without a doubt there has been many superlative offensive linemen supporting our signal callers and running backs. However, the 1960 squad interior lineman had three first team all Ivy players.

To me it was the 1974 All Ivy 1st team Al Moras, Charlie Palmer, Greg Dubinetz. The gentle giant. Bob Fernandez . Opened Holes for Rudy Green , Ty Hennings and Tommy Doyle . Shoot Gary Fencik was 2nd team

What about the 1993 version of the TOADs?!?! Big John Calce at left OT. I believe he could squat something like 750 lbs. And a right guard you had the road grader, Keenan Smith at 6’3” 320, the Ivy version of Nate Newton. They were fun to watch!

YOL, in all honesty I wasn’t around . I was living in St. Croix, New York City. I have no idea what happened in the early 90’s. Before I gotta job at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Welcome! What do you do at the hospital? Where in NYC did you live? Like to. Visit the Big Apple at least once a year. Always good to ask people who lived there where to shop, eat, etc!

I love the dynamic trio moniker for Rawlings, Shohfi and Klubnick. I may be accused of recency bias, but I consider each of them to be in the all time top 3 at their positions to ever play at Yale. Statistics support them all being in the top 2 but I will make some allowance for different eras. It is remarkable that they all played together. They turned around the Yale football program by beating Harvard three times, winning two Ivy Championships and two Big Three (HYP) championships. And of course, Reno gets the credit for recruiting them.

Who will be the next Dynamic Trio .? Which QB will lead Yale to the next level. So many questions so little time.
Stay tuned, one of these days this thread will change.

Looking at Central Connecticut football schedule. Open with Southern Connecticut and a few weeks later . They’re playing in Coral Gables against the U at Miami. Now that’s a schedule.!!!

58 Days is way to long , not to have another thread. There is information to be shared. The people in charge just don’t care. Bunch of Bull squat.

Hey SOE, takes me 5 minutes to get to your post I only see 24 .? Where’s the other 4.

I got excited, hoping to see a few more gems. I can see this class contributing immediately to the Bulldog cause.
54 more days till kick off. Same Bulldog channel, same bulldog time
