Guys one quick note. To coach Reno please return Wyatt Raymond to WR not tight end. This young man could be as good or better then Princetons Jesper Horsted and Stephen Carlson. HE could become a nightmare match up for DB.Good hands and speed another 10 or 15 pounds this young man would be a beast. Good luck to him in the next four years. Walt Yale Blue

Texas Football mag is the Bible on Texas HS football of 60 years standing. The mag just issued a recruiting guide. The guide covers only about 400 kids, spread across the Classes of 2020-2023, so being mentioned by name is special. The mag says this about Mitchell Tyler: “The one-time Baylor commitment switched his commitment to Yale for an Ivy League education. He is a reliable technician and a weight room warrior. He has strong hands and will fight off blocks..”

Hello Texan Eli:
Do you have any info about Cade Klubnik, sophomore QB at Westlake, Austin and Reed’s younger brother?
December 9, 2019 — 4:24 PM
remember it well says:
Heartiest congratulations to Kurt for his well deserved winning of the Bushnell Cup. I know its not part of the Bulldog’s tradition but if there were ever a Yale player I hoped would be carried on the shoulders of his teammates at the end of a glorious win at the Bowl, it would be this outstanding young man.

From ESPN’s 150 Top College Coaches of All-time:
105. Carm Cozza, 179-119-5 Yale (1965-96)
Cozza is the winningest coach in Ivy League history, coaching the Bulldogs to a win or a share of 10 league championships and 18 winning seasons. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002 and coached 15 future NFL players and seven Rhodes Scholars.

Son of Eli says:
Thanks to Yale’s incredible comeback in The Game we can say Carmen Cozza is the winningest coach in Ivy League football history for one more year. Murphy is just one win behind him with 178 wins.
December 10, 2019 — 9:26 PM
bulldog10jw says:
After the Harvard comeback, I thought how much Carm would have enjoyed it and how, maybe, it would have erased a bit of the sting from 1968.
The other person who crossed my mind, because he had the call in 1968, was Dick Galliette.
Hopefully, somehow, they both did enjoy it.

You mean Harvard’s going to win more than 1 game next year?
December 11, 2019 — 4:41 AM
Son of Eli says:
Hopefully some day Reno will surpass Murphy in career wins at the Ivy League so the honor of winningest coach in Ivy League football history can can return to Yale. It would probably take him 20 more years to do it but he’s young enough.

SOE,
Do you think Reno will ever win Ivy league Coach of the year? He has won 2 championships so far and got no respect. How many is it going to take?
December 11, 2019 — 7:29 AM
Son of Eli says:
If he keeps winning he’ll be sure to get it. The Ivy League has a lot of great coaches so it’s hard for a relative new comer to get the respect they deserve. But I think Reno likes to be below the radar. He uses that to his advantage. He likes to recruit players with a chip on their shoulders who have something to prove so not getting the recognition he deserves is probably a personal motivator for him as well.
I’m sorry I doubted him after the Dartmouth game. But as he says, how you react is twice as important as the event itself. He showed tremendous resiliency to go undefeated the rest of the year after that game. He did the same thing in 2017. For what it’s worth he’s coach of the year in my book.

Eli Texan says:
Great to see Austin Westlake, Reid Klubnik’s alma mater, win a Texas High School state title tonight, the Chaps’ first title since Drew Brees’ 1996 team. Westlake finished 15-1.
Yale recruit Ryan Lindsey looked good at WR for Westlake with a couple of nifty catches. He’s undersized but showed exceptional hands.
Westlake’s other Yale recruit this year is lineman Connor Halvorson. A three-year starter at one of Texas’ finest high school programs, Halvorson should play early for the Blue.
